When simeone calls, it won't record their message

Hi there,From answering your telephone when you are busy or away, to broadcasting a generic message to callers, an answering machine is a key part of your home or office phone system. When the device is working properly, it not only records and playbacks messages, but also informs you of the date and time of the call. If your answering machine is not recording messages, displaying an error code or is presenting another problem, you can reset the device and restore it to a working state.

This was a new phone I was using,& didn't realize I had voice mail on it. When it rang 2 times, it recorded the message before I answered on the 3rd. or 4th ring, giving me a dial tone. It is all fixed now.

Make sure the answer mechine is ok. Press "On/Off" serveral time. You can try to record your personal memo ,to check if the answer machine can at least record message locally.

I think that you can reset the system to factory settings by unplugging all power cords and waiting ten minutes, try this out.

I read thru the manual. There is nothing bout recovery of factory messages. If you recorded your own, try deleting it. Or unplug the base from power and try a reset. This is from the manual. At the end, I gave you a link to the manual!

and asks them to leave messages. If the

Looks like hardware issue. Maybe the keyboard doesn't work. The wire inside maybe broken.

Or power off and on again, try to reset the answering machine.

Hi Sherrie, I am sorry to hear about your husband, I will do what I can to help. I am fairly confident on that model that if you push the greeting button, then delete it will erase the message for good. Also, if the memory power failed, then it would reset to the default greeting and erase all messages and greetings. However, if the unit has options for multiple greetings (ie. default greeting, greeting 1, greeting 2, etc., then perhaps the default greeting may have been selected, while your husbands greeting is still there but is recorded under say greeting number 1. If that is the case, you can select it to play his greeting instead of the default greeting to have it play. I would find out for you but my computer is having trouble opening the manual on the Panasonic site, so here is the link. Look under "greetings" in the index. Hope I helped.
