Is there a way I can make the belt only roll backward and stay that way?

This is usually related to the control pwb which is located under the motor "hood".
You can get this part from iconservice.com by going to the replacement parts section of the site and entering the model number of your machine, Which is located on the lower frame assembly below the walk belt. After you have receieved the part you can follow this procedure to repair it.

I've seen this problem several times, but many things can cause it. It's most likely the motor control board, but it could be a number of things. I'd have it looked at.

Have you tried adjusting the rear roller bolts with an allen wrench? That usually works for me.
Unfortunately now I have a slipping problem that tightening the belt via the roller bolts doesn't fix. In fact, I feel as if the belt is too tight as it only lifts about 2" instead of the recommended 3-4". Hope we get some other ideas here!

I have the same unit. First, remove the hood. Then, the motor has an adjustment screw on the belt side of the motor. Loosen the nut a little, adjust the motor up or down to make the belt as tight as you can by hand, then re-tighten the nut. This always fixes mine.

hi,
To adjust the treadmill belt just watch the following video. It will help you for the same.
ok
Remove the screws or bolts securing the ends of the pedals
to the crank axles. Slide the ends of the pedals off the axles. Remove any
screws or bolts securing the left and right disc shields to the base unit. Pull
or pry the disc shields off the base unit and set them aside.
Step 2
Remove any screws or bolts securing the left and right side
shields to the base unit. Detach the side shields and set them aside. Examine
the interior of the base unit and locate the drive belt.
Step 3
Pull the drive belt free of the crank pulley, flywheel and
any other pulleys. Discard the old drive belt and install a new belt in its
place. Turn the crank axles by hand to confirm that the belt will turn smoothly
when the device is in use.
sincerely. Merry Christmas.ernesto cuadra
