SOURCE: have dish receiver 510, channels i need are on

Donna,
I am sorry to hear of your troubles. I am assuming you have another receiver in the house that is an HD receiver as the 510 is not and it would not make any sense for you to have the 129 orbital without it. If you go to the other receiver and are able to get transponder 21 on the 129 bird then the issue lies in either the cabling, connectors, barrels and or wall plate, or the 510 itself. Assuming you were good to go with the hi def receiver move it to the 510 location and see if you are able to still p/u the 21 transponder. If so, the 510 is bad and needs to be replaced. If not the problem lies in the aforementioned areas. if yoou are unable to get the 21 transponder on the hi def receiver also then more than likely the dish needs to be repeaked. If I can be of more assistance let me know. Thanks for using Fix Ya.

SOURCE: added a 322 reciever to

Is TV 2 off the 322 receiver being back fed from the receiver or do you have a direct connection to the 3rd room? If it is a direct connection, you would screw the coax from the 3rd bedroom directly to the TV 2 Home Distribution channel 21-69 out port.

If you are back feeding, you need 2 diplexers that connect 1) by the receiver and 2) between the receiver and the 3rd TV. The back feeding will use the same cable coming from the dish to the receiver.

If you have any other questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

ok explain a little more please. Make sure U have the coax coming from the Dish (outside) going into the back of receiver where it says SAT in. or if it is a dual tuner (ie: 322 etc) make sure the coax in hooked up to the Separator. also make sure u are using the correct dish and lnb to match ur receiver. I ALWAYS do a "check switch: every time I hook up to a new/different dish just to make sure the receiver recognizes the LNB.

Humax Freesat was working fine then lost signal and now is not reognising postcode. We have unplugged/repluged, checked all cables (all OK) and tried to restart but as it is now not recognising postcode...

This can happen if the dish is slightly misaligned. I believe the postcode tables are read from a satellite which is about 0.3 degrees away from the Astra satellites. If your dish is slightly misaligned it may not be able to receive it correctly, also the following is the standard procedure which you've probably already been through, but I hope it helps:

1. Freesat Detection Fails / Invalid Postcode
  • Unplug the Foxsat-HDR from the mains and unplug the cable from your dish which is connected to the LNB IN
    connection.
  • Check that the "F-type" connector is firmly on the end of the cable.
  • Power on the and follow the Installation Wizard again.
2. If still not Detecting the signal or verifying postcode
  • Select NEXT through the Installation Wizard and then FINISH at the end.
  • Press the OK button to enter the SETUP menu and Select Manual Tune.
  • Select the following Transponder (11428 H 27500 A) from the list of Transponders.
  • Check that you are receiving stable levels for both Signal Strength & Signal Quality or >50%.
  • If you are not receiving sufficient Signal on this Transponder then you may require an installer to check your
Dish Alignment, LNB, cabling, or connectors.

My sky is not working it just says no sattelite signal is being recieved.

hi this could be a number of issues ,lets start firstly have you checked all connections goin to and from receiver to lnb on dish ,,,? secondly iff you have a sat finder connect this at lnb and connect other to receiver ,it will be clearly marked where to connect the coax too.if you dont understand how to i recomend you get someone thats quilified at this type of work ,the other solution is that your lnb could be blown or faulty this can happen after years of use .hope you get it sorted goodluck

Even Transponderds Zero

Typically that indicates a bad LNB or connection to the LNB. Try moving the line to one of the other three ports on the LNB and if that doesn't work then you will need to replace it

Your question is posted in a refrigeration section.
Try replacing the LNB, which is the device your cable(s) connect to at the dish.

Hi. I need help finding 119!

I looks like you are picking 110W with the LNB on your left if you are facing the dish.
Try to get 119W first if you connect the cable to the 119 LNB, once you find 119W that way, you will also have 110W.
Good Luck.

Only picking up one satellite

Thank you for the info.
Here is what you can try:
Try to get the Echo 8.10(110W) first by connecting the LNB on your left if you are behind the dish. On the first transponder from 110W you need to get anything better than 90% quality.
After this is done you may have to play with the skew until you get 119W. On 119W the first transponder frequency is 12239Mhz.
The skew will depend on where you live.
Check here for more info on the parameters to get your dish align.
BTW, What kind of receiver do you have?
Not finding what you are looking for?
