I would suggest using a simpler encryption protocol for your wireless.

Difficult one to answer. You cannot adjust anything internal to the router to extend the wireless broadcast range. however, there are a few things you can try to make the most of the range it has. Internal walls and furnishings all play a part in reducing the effective range of the router. The model you specify has the 3x3 MIMO antenna array so should give you a decent range, at least 50 metres indoors. Keep the router as high and as far away from walls as you can, this will greatly improve the range. try to ensure the router is not screened by large near by metal objects such as steel PC cases, these will absorb wireless signals and reduce the range.

Try this, your IPS Virgin, is a modem? remove AC from the ISP modem and remove battery(If it has one), remove AC power from the Linksys. Insert battery and plug in the virgin ISP modem, allow it to run the self test, may take a few mins. Plug in the Linksys, ( Is it secured with a SSID and security code?), wait for self test. turn on your computer boot normally.
