It does sound like the belt is broken. you will need to access the inside of the dryer by removing the front. they all come apart differently. Make and Model would help me tell you more.

The loud, constant squeak/squeal from your Frigidaire dryer, combined with a burning smell, indicates a serious problem that needs to be addressed. While replacing the drum bearing kit was a good step, it appears that there may be other issues at play.
One possible cause of the squeaking could be a worn or damaged drive belt or idler pulley. If the idler pulley spring came off, it is possible that the belt is not properly tensioned and may be slipping or rubbing against the drum, causing the squeaking noise. Additionally, a slipping belt can generate a burning smell as it heats up from the friction.
Another possible cause of the burning smell could be a malfunctioning heating element, which may be overheating the dryer and causing the burning odor.
It is recommended that you stop using the dryer immediately and unplug it from the power source. It is not safe to continue using a dryer that is producing a burning smell.
Loud noise is not a good description. What does it sound like? The dryer has a belt that turns the drum, the belt can wear and slip, there is a also a tensioner pulley on the belt system and then there is the motor that turns the drum. The smell could be from the belt, however you should know that dryers are not maintenance free and you have to clean them at least annually because they can build up lint in the cabinet and that lint can get into the heating element and it can start a fire.
The only rubber part is the belt that drives the drum around. The belt rides on a tensioner which has a pulley on it with a bearing built into it. When the bearing goes bad the pulley will not turn freely causing the belt to get hot and smell. Its time for a new pully and bearing assembly for your dryer
Hi, You need to check and see if the belt has slipped off of one of the pulleys. Was the idler the wheels style or a glide style? Make sure the grooves in the belt are facing the drum and they are in the grooves of the motor pulley. Please let me know if this helps and if I can assist you further.
Remove back of drier after disconnecting the power cord.
Find old belt laying on floor under machine. Obtain new belt and place around drum and motor pulley. done
