T appears to mean "defrosting." In other words, the condenser coils have gotten too cold and are icing up..

The filter is probably full, or the thermostat is faulty. Open it up and clean the filter first.

SOURCE: What does P1 mean on display?

Danby's Consumer Help Line (1-800-263-2629) is always busy. So, I called their General number: 419-425-8627. The receptionist transferred my call to their Service dept. My call was answered in 2 minutes.

The Service Rep. described the following code for my dehumidifier model (DDR657EE):
P1 = Defrosting: the unit will go into Defrost mode periodically to ensure that the parts are working at the right operating temperature. It should be in Defrost (P1) mode for only a brief period of time. If the unit is in Defrost (P1) mode continuously for a couple of hours (or more), then you should call Danby Service for further assistance.

He had no documentation of a P2 code for my model.

He also described other General Codes (applicable to most Dehumidifier/Humidifier models):
E1 = Not enough water
E2 = Not draining
E3 = Water temperature too cool
E4 = Overflow Switch activated
E6 / E7 = Problem with Temperature Sensor

I hope that helps.

SOURCE: P1 code displayed in LED

Condenser coils do not freeze, it is the evaporator coils that freeze. If it is icing up then the setting is too low for the area it is in, basically the humidistat will never be satisfied so it will run continually and end up freezing the evap coils, the coils could also freeze if the filter is dirty or there is an air flow problem.

Code on Top

I have another of their dehumidifiers, the MDF1-30AE. The first time the P1 came on, the unit stopped, because the filter needed cleaning. Recently P1 came on but the unit didn't turn off, and I had already cleaned the filter, so I phoned Midea customer service at 1-866-646-4332. The man told me P1 means it's in defrost mode and said to just leave it on and the P1 will eventually go away. It's been a while though....

P1 error code

Take out your filter and clean it, if its dirty your machine can frost up due to the lack of air flow and will not work correctly. Once you clean it, it should be fine.
