The older ipods charge using 12v, the newer ones (including the Touch 2nd gen) use 5v. So a lot of docks that will charge a nano will not charge a new Touch. If a dock says it will work with the iPhone then it will work with the newer iPod Touch (2nd gen).
If you have an old dock and want to charge a new Touch (sounds like the case here) then you can get an adapter. Scosche makes one just for this.

My ipod wont play through the docking system, how do i solve this? it is a sony ICF-CS10iP. i have tried unpluging it. it used to work when i had this problem before. but it hasnt worked for a couple days...

Please check the iPod connector on the Sony. If you can wiggle it, it is probably a bad connection. These model Sony radios have the connector directly soldered on a PCB and it tends to get loose after a while due to connecting/disconnecting the iPod. If it is loose, the connector needs to be re-soldered back into place.

I have had the following circumstances when there was a bad connection:
- iPod will not be charged
- iPod can not play music through the Sony
- iPod will play music through the Sony, but an iPhone won't

Can not get a iPod touch to charge. Is this iPod supported. Please help.

There is a fix for this. Unfortunately, the some ipods will function properly with the exception of charging. You can buy an adapter to fix this. You can find them on ebay. Go to ebay and do a search for "Scosche charging dock adapter" The adapter plugs into your charging dock and then the ipod plugs into it. They usually come in black or white. If you get the same color as your docking unit you wont even see it once its installed. This works...I have one : )

If possible, please post the model number of your Jensen HD radio. The Jensen HD radio that I know about is only meant to support the iPod nano, iPod with video (5.5G), original iPod and iPod mini.

Wont play through my bose system anymore

the apple ipod are very delicate and it seems that docks are very harsh on the internal workings IE: motherboard of the ipod. it not just the touch, it's all ipods.
My suggestion is to check the headphone jack and if you get sound, don;t play your ipod on the dock at all. Your dock has probably done some damage to the audio circuit on the board.
If you get sound through the headphone jack save your ipods life and just use it through the jack.
I have replaced numerous motherboards on ipods played on docks. they just don;t handle the charging and playing very well whether it's heat or just the wrong voltage I am not sure.
But my first question to a customer is have you played it on a dock.
I would stay away from the dock

Inmotion speeker dock wont charge new ipod touch

This is because you are using different generations.

If the dock was only meant for 1st generation, then itwill only charge 1st generation. It's how they make their money.

Itouch charging

Hi there,

Some speaker systems which are only compatible for charging the ipod nanos and classics do not work with the iPod Touch and the iPhone, the internals are slighly different from one another which will not allow that speaker system to charge your iTouch.

To play & Charge your touch, i suggest getting a speaker system that supports the iPod touch platform.

Hope this helps ?!
