Clean the disc of all fingerprints, check for scratches, use can of air to blow any dust particles off of disc reader etc.... basically just make sure its all clean

It sounds like your PS2 is not booting up. If you get opening screen with no disc in the PS2 your motherboard is botting up ok. If your not getting the screen with the circling dots when you start up the PS2 your motherboard has a problem. If your PS2 does boot up and the screen goes balck after the disc is running, then your Disc is corrupted, and you will have to get a new Game disc. Please post some more details as to what exactly is happening to your PS2. We will get you a solution. You may need to send your PS2 to the Playstation Clinic for repair.
