No heat from burners or oven after relocating stove

Have moved to new house.. no heat on stove top or oven after plugging in unit. Ran new line for stove and tested power. full amps flowing. Is there some reset code or something that needs to be done since the unit sat for 4 months before going into new kitchen?

Hi Ron - From what you have described if neither the burners nor oven turns on make sure the electrical connecting is 240V. The oven light and clock portions only required 115V. The clock and oven light working may indicate an electrical circuit breaker supplying the range is tripped or a fuse is blown. Confirm household circuit is correct and the range cord is properly wired to the terminal block.

SOURCE: The indicator lights and clock

From what you are describing, the power to your stove is incorrect. The diagram indicates the voltages that should be present at the receptacle, I suspect one of the 110 volt legs is bad at the receptacle or circuit breaker. The clock operates on the good 110 volt leg. The burners need both 120 volt legs to be good because the burners and oven need 220 volts to work.

Magic chef range burners and oven have no power. What can be checked.

Video is kinda veg. If nothing heats up at all, check the circuit breaker in the house fuse panel, check the plug in behind you stove.
Now if you are having just a problem with the oven heating up, you may have a bad heating element or a bad switch.

Same is you just have one stove top burner.

Please, If you do not have working knowledge of electricity do not try to fix this your self, call a repair person.

I have a K/A kgst307 gas stove that was bought new as a natural gas unit. After 3 years, I moved to a house that had propane. NO PROBLEM because an LP conversions kit came with the stove. Used the stove on...

Although the natural gas orifices for the stove top burners were replaceable with propane orifices, many ovens/broilers orifices are simply adjustable using a 1/2" open end wrench to convert from one gas to another. Some brands are adjustable and some have to be changed out. It depends on the make and model. Do you have your owner's manual? It contains detailed info on converting your unit. I included a link below to choose from the list to download your manual. You'll need your exact model # listed on your stove. Pull out the bottom drawer and look at the data plate for the model # and then find it on the list for the correct manual. Douglas

Burners ignite but wont light

Are you on Natural Gas or LP?

If on LP, you may need to change the jets on the burners on top. Most times, when oven and broiler work and top doesn't, and you have spark, your jets are wrong size. Look on back of unit for a cardboard attached to unit, should have jets stuck to cardboard, if notgo to store where you bought unit and buy jets.

Pilot lights

you need to plug the oven in; pull it out and you should locate the pwr cord or you may already have it plugged in and have a breaker turned off or a gfi tripped

I have a double gas oven and no instructions

I have an O'Keefe & Merritt double oven gas stove. The model number is 72 7242 23. The upper oven is about the size of a large microwave and sits above the range burners. The lower (full-size) oven is below the burner unit and includes a broiler draw below it.
So, when you say, double oven, I wonder if you are just talking about the main oven with broiler drawer (both of which are below the burner unit.)

Mine was a builder-supplied appliance in the new house we purchased in 1986. The upper oven has never performed very well. And, yes the upper oven can only be used for baking.

I have an instruction manual for it, but it doesn't provide that much information. Getting parts for it is extremely difficult, since Tappan is no longer manufacturing this brand. (I've been trying to locate a flat oven ignitor for the upper oven and can't seem to find a replacement that's the same 6-1/3" length.) In the 1980s Tappan apparently purchased O'Keefe & Merritt and marketed this brand for several years. Models originally manufactured by O'Keefe & Merritt in the 1930s-1950s are considered collectible antique stoves!
