Hoover elite power wont stay on

I have never seen a reset button fitted to a vacuum cleaner - mostly the safety device is either a self resetting bimetal breaker or a thermal fuse.

Likely failed to start due to a coincidental failure. Sometimes dust and fibres can work their way into the bimetal breaker but mostly it is an internal break in the power cord or a faulty switch. The circuit must be checked with a trusty multimeter and that will require the appliance to be at least partially dismantled.

Take it back to fool with it will void the warranty.

You may need a new switch

Hi! It appears your thermal protector sensor has kicked in and caused your cleaner to power off. This is usually due to a clog or a filter that needs to be cleaned or replaced. Try these steps to get your vacuum back up & running!

1. Remove the dirt cup canister from the vacuum. Twist off the dirt cup lid.
2. Remove the primary foam filter. Hold filter under running water until water runs clear. Squeeze out the filter and allow 24 hours to air dry.
3. Slide the Hepa filter out. Tap the filter against the trash can until dirt stops falling. Replace the Hepa filter. (Do not wash)
4. Remove the hose from both ends. Use a broom stick to gently loosen and clear any clogs from hose.
5. Use a wooden spoon or something similar to loosen and remove any clogs from the lower hose.

Your vacuum should turn back on after it cools off, this can take up to an hour. Hope this helps!

The switch is broken. If you are handy, remove the old switch and match it up at a hardware store or a Vacuum repair shop. It shouldn't cost much to have it replaced by a proffessional either.

sounds like your on & off button is not good you can have that button replace take to your nearest vacuum repair shop everything is fixable.....

is it a switch or a push button?

Sorry if this is stating the obvious, but it sounds as though your machine needs a new switch! Do you need help with that?

Are you sure its not just your belt on the beater of head slipping and needs to be replaced?
