Tivoli model two - low/no sound in base unit

Tivoli model two - remote speaker works fine; base unit speaker makes sound but is very very faint;

I tried the earphone jack on the base unit and found that both channels have sound, but then also learned that the BALANCE control turns but has no effect on left and right on the headphones.

Note that the balance control does work to adjust sound from hardwired remote Tivoli speaker.

This has me stumped. How do I open this ****** up and take a look inside? Thanks!

I have exactly the same problem but found two work arounds, either one that I am completely satisfied. 1. unplug and replug the AC.
2. I have a subwoofer, when I plug the subwoofer cable half way in, the sounds of the base speak goes back to normal (but not all the way in)

Tivoli Audio Model Two OFF - FM - AM - AUX Switch

It sounds like there may be a problem with the switch or the connections between the switch and the circuit board. Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try: Clean the switch contacts: Over time, the contacts in the switch can become dirty or corroded, leading to poor or intermittent connections. You can try cleaning the switch contacts with a small amount of contact cleaner or rubbing alcohol on a cotton swab. Be sure to unplug the radio from the power outlet before attempting any cleaning. Check the connections: The switch may not be making a good connection with the circuit board, or there may be a loose wire or solder joint. You can try opening up the radio (if you're comfortable doing so) and checking the connections between the switch and the board. Look for any loose wires or solder joints, and gently re-seat or re-solder them if necessary. Replace the switch: If cleaning and checking the connections doesn't solve the problem, the switch itself may be faulty and need to be replaced. You can contact Tivoli Audio customer support to order a replacement switch and get instructions on how to install it.

Milwaukee radio m18. Does work after New charged battery

Sometimes radios have Mute feature. Check if it has been activated by accident. If OK but still low volume sound, remove the unit and test it on a bench with different speakers. If OK then check the speaker cables in you car. Some may have shorted.

Faint sounf from car speakers

Just a couple general ideas. If it is a used car then the head unit is possibly failing. Another possibility is resistance building up at the connections. If you can clean the connections, plugs and slipons with electronic spray, erasure, and fine sand paper if accesable.

Sony Bravia HDX-285 My center speaker does not put out any sound. I tried changing the input and it work fine in the other inputs. I tried a different speaker in the center speaker input jack and no sound....

Your surround capability is 5.1. Although there is a front panel function button, there appears to be no other buttons to program your unit without the remote. Find your remote or replace it. Ebay is showing replacements at what I consider a low cost. The Sony model is RM-ADU007. Failing that and considering the many remote functions required for you unit, would be a Logitech Harmony replacement. The Harmony remote also comes with a USB patch cord because the user must go online with Logitech to program the remote for your unit. It would be best to the Harmony website prior to buying to make sure it covers your model.

Tivoli Radio,

Does your radio have a sleep button or option? If so, check to make sure that you did not set it on accident or with out knowing. Or if it has batteries, check them to make sure they aren't dead or mixed with old or new.

Tivoli Stereo Speaker

Any speaker has the potential to be used as a computer speaker. The problem you will run into is what will be used to power the speaker. Typical computer sound connections do not put out a strong enough signal to power a full sized speaker on their own. If you hooked the computer to an amplifier and then to a speaker it would work fine. If you do this, I recommend using the line out connection on the computer instead of the headphone connection.
