The sound goes off after a few minutes and I noticed when I increase or decrease the volume with the remote the sound will go on and off

The only simple thing you can do is to check the manual buttons on the set for any sticking. When pressing a button down you can feel the detent.(click) When releasing the button it should raise up freely. Sometimes while cleaning the cabinet moisture gets on the switch assembly under the buttons causing random activity. I have experienced three common causes for your problem. 1 sticking buttons 2 defective switch assembly. The assembly can be unplugged from the circuit to see if the problem goes away. 3 a problem with the microprocessor that controls the functions.( requires a qualified tech to repair
) hope this helps

There are some inductors that are out of spec. LG's original SB said to replace some of these with a jumper, but it only lasted a couple months.
You need to have the Total Main Assy replaced.

The fault may be on the control board. Sometimes the button switches can be stuck, or there may be something causing some conduction on the control circuit board. It is also possible to have a component failure that is causing a continuous command to keep the volume to the high position.
Something that causes failures of controls in TV sets is when people clean the screen, they spray liquid cleaner on the screen. Some of it drips down in to the controls and on to the circuit board. This will usually cause damage, and thus the set will require shop service.
