Question about LeapFrog Custom Learning Gaming System
My 7 year old recieved a didj 4 christmas . it keeps shutting down immediately after turning on what should i do!!!
We were having the same problem; my son (an we) were getting very frustrated! I finally tried to reboot the game and it seems to have worked. Take a paperclip and bend it; place the point in the small circular opening in the back of the game (there is two arrows next to the opening). We just did this and my son played past the point where it would shut down. The manual said that doing this would erase all of the memory...this didn't seem to happen.

This happened to me after trying to tune up my daughter's Didj. I am VERY dissapointed in this product. I cant believe what a mess this Didj is. The Leapster and Leapster2 that my daughters received years ago are hands down better than this brand new Didj they have now. I spent the entire evening after work trying to fix this shutting down thing. With pressure from one daughter to "just fix it Mommy" becasuse the other's had no problem with hers, I finally gave up and the following day called Leap Frog and complained to them how it akes NO sense why it is MANDATORY to tune this thing up, #1..and #2 WHY on earth do you have to download the software TWICE for each child when before it didnt require you to do so, just add another profile. This thing is ridiculous. Once I told the Leap Frog rep (Mary Ann) what was going on, she didnt seem too surprised..which makes me POSSITIVE they have heard of this sort of thing before with the Didjs and wont do anything about it...What she ended up doing was asking me for the number on the inside of the battery compartment so that I can send the game and receive a replacement. All she asked me was wear I purchased it from, which was Walmart around Christmas..this is all the information she required, no receipt. I just went today to the post office, cost me around $4 to send the package priority mail with a delivery confirmation. I mailed it to Leap Frog Enterprises, 563 N. Fairview Street, Santa Ana, Ca. 92703. The phone number is 800-701-5327. PLEASE CALL and complain about your Didj. Ask to speak to a supervisor if you have to. The LEAST that they can do is send you a replacement. Good luck.

Tips for a great answer:
Follow these steps To reset the Didj to factory settings and solve your problem:
1) Launch LeapFrog Connect
2) On your computer keyboard, press "Ctrl + Shift + R"
(on a Mac "Command + Shift + R").
This should bring up a window that says "Connect the device you would like to reset"
3) Connect the Didj and turn it on
4) Follow the on screen messaging to reset the Didj
5) Eject the Didj when the reset is complete
6) Recreate the profile on the Didj and then turn it off
7) Close and then open LeapFrog Connect
8) Connect the Didj and turn it on
9) You may be prompted the Didj needs an update. Accept this update
10) Get your parents to sign into the parent account and link a footprint to the current profile.
