Does it have a dipstick that indicates the amount of oil?
If it has, it is a 4 stroke and does not require an oil/fuel mix.
If it does not have a dipstick, it is a 2 stroke and will require a mix of oil and fuel.
Without knowing anything about your genset, I would think that it is a 4 stroke.
A 2 stroke motor would deliver the power too high in the rev range.
Judging from what discription you are giving me I would say it is a 4 stroke, so make sure you have either sae 30 or 10/w30 oil in crankcase where it says oil and petrol (gas) in the other tank. 2StrokeJim
There is a special 2-stroke engine oil mix that you can purchase at various stores that have outdoor equipment or you can also find mix at Walmart. There are instructions for proper mixing on the bottle.
Remember not to put 2-stroke mixed fuel in your lawn mower unless it is also 2-stroke (rare). And the converse is also true, do not put your 4-stroke lawn mower fuel in your 2-stroke weed eater.
your victa is a 2 stroke vc160 these units sare stated to run 25:1 fuel / oil ratio
that is 40 mils of 2 stroke for every 1.0 litre of petrol that mix
so if mixing 2 litres - 1st put in 80 mils of good quality 2 stroke oil then put in 2 litres of petrol , give good shake and fill up your mower tank
2 stroke oil that you would use for sthil chainsaw would be ok its hi quality
you could use some fuel stabilizer additive to hekp stop mix from going stale too soon

Use 10w40 motor oil in the gear box. Don't use any synthetic oils, oil marked "EC", or oil with "special" additives. Stick with the major brands; Pennzoil, Quaker State, Mobil or Shell. If in a hot area like Texas or New Mexico go with 20w50. Use TWO STROKE ENGINE OIL in the pump. If not using an automatic oil pump, then mix the gas and oil 32 to 1. That equals 4 ounces of TWO STROKE ENGINE OIL to one gallon of gas. NEVER use motor oil in the gas. Only two stroke engine oil.
i guess your asking if its a 2 stroke or a 4 stroke right ?
2 stroke engines dont have an oil filler cap , just a fuel filling point, the fuel used in a 2 stroke is just normal unleaded (aus) but you mix 2 stroke oil in the fuel before filling (about 50/1) or whatever it recomends.
4 stroke uses the same fuel but you dont mix the oil with the fuel , it has its own filler point for oil , however you must use a 4 stroke oil with these .
