Does the GPS work outside of the vehicle? Where is the GPS mounted? If the GPS is under the dash, mounting it up on top of the dash will help. If the Vauxhall has a windshield with a reflective metallic coating or treatment in the glass, this may result in poor GPS satellite reception.
You would use your windshield mount and suction it to the plastic horse shoe mount as a dash mount, and there is tons of other mounting options that you may wish to look at.
You can find many different TomTom mouting solutions such as vent mount, viser mount, cup holder mount, vehicle specific mount, windshield mount along with dash mount options at www.autonavdirect.com or www.autonav2000.com.
Good Luck
