I changed the toner cartridge and now it won't print. The red round light on the control panel is lit. I have tried opening and closing the side door. I have tried the clear/far left button, clear/far left button and that just turned off the machine. So I turned the machine back on and the red light is still on. what now?
SOURCE: Toner light continues to flash and copier won't print
Hi, your problem won't be scanner related, if it were it would a separate error code. I have never bothered with reman cartridges, purely for this problem, the money saved is not enough if you have problems. I would try a genuine toner cart (probably cheaper then calling an engineer out).
Let me know how you get on.

Andy
SOURCE: RED LIGHT
If the signs that is blinking red which is shape like triangle , it is the toner cartridge indicator. The toner cartridge is empty.Try to pullout and check the toner cartridge, if it is light in weight it is already empty.
SOURCE: The "Paper Jam" light on my Sharp AL-1631 copier stays on
The paper detector on the fixing units have a history of going bad. The fixing unit is the hot roller above the drum inside the right door on the top. As the copy comes thru the rollers the paper hits a plastic lever that is spring loaded and located in the middle of the fixing unit. The sensor is all the way to the right side of the fixing assembly. If you move the lever in the middle you'll see a piece of plastic moving on the right, that piece comes out of the sensor and if can't reset the jam, that piece may not be resetting itself back inside the sensor. This is difficult to try to explain.
Good luck

SOURCE: SHARP AR-287 F2-00 error code
Although this appears to be an ATC (automatic toner control) problem and it may list as such in service manual which gives brief description of error code it is often something else.
There is a sponge roller at bottom of toner that wears down considerably and when the hopper is very low or out of toner the otner light will come on(triangle of dots). The customer puts the new toner in and the sudden surge of a large amount of toner cascading into the hopper causes an excessive amount of toner to go past the sponge roller and directly into the developer unit which is directly under toner hopper.
The ATC sensor is on the bottom of developing unit and "reads" the density of the developer /toner ratio and with a very overtoned situation as the one created above you would get an F2-00 code.
What is normally done is to either dump toner out of hopper and replace sponge roller and seals or replace toner hoppers as a whole which is quicker and costs almost rh same as cahnging the sponge roller and seals is more labor intensive.
Also the developer is now contaminated with an excessive amount of toner and the recommende solutin is to replace the developer and calibrate theu service program.
This is hardley recommended by a service man unfamiliar with this mode let alone the customer. I ahve been in the Bay Ridge area for years and as a matter of fact bought an investment property thru Petses Realty. Frank
