via USB and open up your Windows Explorer and go to the drive. (It will be listed as TOMTOM (E) or some other drive letter).
Copy the Yellow Folders one by one to your PC. Ideally, save all the folders under a new folder that you name.
You may find that the folder ttntools and gns may not be copied. This is o.k. if they aren't.

Open TomTom Home
Click on Upate Now.
Install the latest update onto your TomTom.
Once installed, switch your TomTom off, then disconnect if from the PC.
Thats it. From now on, make a full backup using TomTom Home prior to any updates.
Also note, that copying all the files will take some time.

In the box you have a 'desktop' mount. Looks like the windscreen mount without the ******.
Also you will have got a mains power lead.
Plug the lead into the 'desktop mount' (Left hand side) of the stick up bit.
Plug in and put your 910 onto the mount. It will 'Click' into place
The green light will shine to show it's charging.
To release the unit from the mount PRESS in the button in the middle of the screen top rim and lift off.
Remember to turn of the power at the socket to stop wasting electricity
The usb part of the desktop mount goes into your pc so you can connect to TomTom home or just plain old 'back it up'
It is ok to have power switched on or off when connect to the pc, there is no need to unplug the jackplug.
Hope this helps

When mine did that, I plugged it in with the 120V charger for a half hour or so and then used a paper clip to push the reset on teh bottom of the unit. You may have to hold the reset in for several seconds before it will reset.

These can be repaired but before that get a good magnifying glass and take a good look in there.
Sometimes a bit of debris gets in ans that too can stop a usb cord from working on the tom tom's.
If you are sure it is pooched they can be repaired and the part can quite often be had from some of the larger electronic component suppliers should you feel comfortable doing it yourself.
If not then a good electronic repair shop should have no problem doing it.
The last option is to send it back to tom tom
Hope there is something in there to help you
Testimonial: "Thanks for that, I have the new socket already but i think it will go into the shop as i have just had a look and it looks too delicate for me."

It can be done with difficulty. I change them on a regular basis though as i run a repair business.
If you want me to change it I can do it for a small fee.
