To overcome
the above problem you have to rebuilt theiPhoto library. Press
and hold the Command and Option keys when you click on the iPhoto icon.

desired option and click on "Rebuild" button. But rebuilding do not guarantee

You could try the application iphoto library manager which can be found at http://www.fatcatsoftware.com/iplm/ this can allow you to rebuild corrupted iphoto libraries. I am not sure if the free version has this facility but the full version costs about $20 and is well worth it to keep your iphoto up to scratch. Hope this helps.
