Yahama HTR-5730 Only recently has my Yahama sound system not been working properly. The sound is working but it doesn't seem to support my plasma television. When I plug it into the HTR-5730, only the sound works. There is no video. Can anyone help? Also, I seem to have lost the manual and would like to find a copy online. Is there a downloadable version available? Thanks.

When using tuner both speakers work but when using turntable one speaker is very low?

ONLY one channel low with a turntable?

Are you using a self-preamlified TT or an outboard phono preamp, because the HTR has no facility for direct attachment of an old-school TT.

It could be a turntable problem if you have phono preamplification most likely. Swap the two channels to prove it or not.

Try another input.

Check your settings in the Receiver Main Menu. Go to Speaker settings, then to Subwoofer, and select "Yes" or "On" or it may say "LFE or Both" choose "Both" Hope this helps. If you still have a problem, post a comment and I can help you some more

My stereo shuts off when the sound jumps quickly

You might try connecting only one speaker at a time and see if you can locate a bad speaker OR bad output channel that way. If you find that you connect one speaker and the problem occurs then try another working speaker and see if it still does it. If it does, then you have an output problem. Good luck.

Connecting a Yamaha VX7 Subwoofer on my Yamaha HTR 5730 AV Receiver

Hello srqwrk,

You can connect the VX7 to the 5730 using an RCA Y cable like the one shown in the picture below. You get your one connection for the receiver and 2 for the VX7. These are available at any electronics store. Remember that the cable should be long enough to go from the receiver to where subwoofer will be placed.
Hope this helps. Let me know.
