Tv is connected to Comcast cable HD receiver. Turns on OK but when you change channels with remote screen suddenly gets totally green with no picture. Have to turn off wait a few seconds and turn back on. If I leave it on ALL day and I dont change channels, it's OK. I have another TV in bedroom hooked up to a DVR and this never happens. I hooked the DVR to the problem Sony and it happened again. Sony claims it is the Comcast box software that is not up to date. Comcast says this is rediculous. They tested the receiver and all was OK. Obviously it's the TV set but Sony is playing games to they dont have to fix it or replace it. Set is under warranty until October 2012.

I have had an extremely similar problem with my Comcast Motorola DVR and Sony Bravia with HDMI connection. For months I would lose picture/keep sound when changing from a non-HD to an HD channel. The solution that I found is that there is a setting in the cable box setup that will likely fix your issue. Turn off your cable box leaving the TV on. Quickly press the Menu button on your remote to get into the Box setup. Make sure that 4:3 Override is set to "Off" instead of 480i. I believe this will solve your problem.

40X2000, both PS3 and DVD player are using a HDMI input and both flicker and loose signal fully, have to turn TV of then back on to get signal back. Sony say they have never heard this problem and replaced board. NOTHING fixed, still same problem.
