SOURCE: formating memory

You need to format the usb stick in the machine itself, don't use a high memory one or one that has a partitioned area. 1 gigabyte or lower. You need to use the set icon on the machine and arrow through the pages to find the Format screen. Select the tab for USB device. Then click yes to the prompts, that installs the correct folder system. Now the software end, open easy design and select machine from the top toolbar, set machine type to 11000. Open a design and use the file drop down menu and select Save As, choose JEF in the file type bar, you will see a button below Save , Delete, called options, click on it, you'll find a list of machines, set it for the 11000. It is that selection that saves the design in the correct format. There are 2 jef formats, the old Jef for the previous machines and the enhanced Jef for the 11000. Now rename the design, open the flash memory menu and in the right hand pane you should see your usb flash drive, if it's the only one you have connected all well and good, if not click on each flash drive to find the correct one. You'll know which one it is,because in the window below you will see an Embf folder, open it, you must always open the Embf folder before writing a design, now some have child files inside, emb, if so open that as well , don't create a new folder it wont be read by the machine. Now write the design to the usb flash drive. Do you have a copy of the PCtools software? if so you need to download the update as it's that software that allows 2 way communication between the machine and the computer. Keep an eye on how many designs you insert into the internal memory, it isnt very big. You shouldnt need to reformat the internal memory,

SOURCE: My Janome Harmony 1017 won't

when the fabric does not move then the feed dogs under the needle plate need to be checked to see if there up or down.
if the feed dogs are down then the lever or switch needs to be pushed up into the correct position
if the feed dogs are up & they are not moving the fabric like there suppose to, cause it's there job to move the fabric against the presser foot,, then they need to be check

the gears that do the zig zag stitches should be checked to make sure there not worn & weather they might need be be greased

Can thread tension be manually adjusted on janome 11000 special edition

Yes, the upper thread tension on the Jan ome MC 11000 SE can be manually adjusted. To do so, start by loosening the tension dial on the back of the machine until the tension is light enough. Then slowly turn the tension dial back up until you reach the desired tension.

My janome 11000 memorycraft's needle threader has jammed in the down position and cannot be moved

Thanks to floraq803, we have our 11000 working again. The needle threader was stuck in the down position. We turned off the machine, and turned the wheel (which controls where the needle is) until the needle threader bar was straight (approximately 1/2 way between the needle being all the way down and all the way up). Turned on the machine and the threader came back up again. Now back to sewing.
