Hotpoint ew91 halogen hob wont turn off

Tonight one of the halogen rings wont turn off by the nob and i have to switch off by the wall, switched back on and it fires straight up, nob doesnt appear to be controlling it anymore, any ideas? is this a nob problem or something more serious? Can i replace the hob nob (hmmm) is there a strip down manual available anywhere? Thanks in anticipation.

Hi, its an all in one oven. Double oven with built in halogen hob. I had another look at it and removed the nob and after several minutes fiddling it turned off, i put the nob back on and turned it on and it wouldnt turn off again, pulled off the nob again and took a bt longer this time but heard a click and it went off, not sure what to do next?

Just to add even with the nob off and the dial at 0, it was still staying on, after fiddling and wobbling (very technical) it did eventually turn off.

Creda problems

Hi, if there is no regulation on the hob, it is typically the switch that is faulty unless halogen, then it could be the thermal cutout.

Hello. I have a new hotpoint CIO644 induction hob but when I turn a hob on, and put a pan of any size on the hob, it start ticking. The ticking stops when I take the pan off. The display shows the setting...

Hi

I'm not sure that you really have a problem as with induction hobs you need to put your pan (metal only) with the ingredients in it on the hob before switching the heater on.

it is the pan which will get hot, the ticking may or may not be the pan heating up.

Try it with water only in the pan and see if it works.

Hob on my hotpoint oven trips my RCD

It is either a faulty ring, or the regulator that controls it is faulty.
You really need a meter to test the ring with to be certain which part is faulty.
Hope this helps.

Halogen ring not working

Hi .
It sounds like the temp control is faulty.
Either way you are going to have to remove the hob top to access the controls and elements, Then you can check if the element is getting a feed to it.

Sometimes you can see if the element has gone, .

If you need any further help, let me know.Good luck.
