GPS Not Activate in my iPhone 3G 2.1 Firmware

There is no 3.1.1 firmware version available for the iPhone 3G. 3.1.1 is only for ipod touches. To downgrade to 3.1.2 (http://modmyi.com/forums/downloads/firmware/6/iphone-3g-3-1-2-32353/) or 3.1 (http://modmyi.com/forums/downloads/firmware/6/iphone-3g-3-1-32183/), download from either of the provided links, go into iTunes and to your iPhone tab, shift+click on restore for windows, or alt+click restore on mac, navigate to the downloaded file, and open it. Your phone will restore to the downloaded firmware.

You can try to use "tinyUmbrella" to see if cydia has you ssh on file..

once you start the software you click the button save my ssh..

once it's done processing you can click on start tss server

This tss server will allow you to bypass itunes server which restricts downgrading firmware...

Once Tss server is running you can start itunes

once itunes detects your iphone shift + click on restore

Select the iphone 3g 4.0.1 firmware (goto http://www.felixbruns.de/iPod/firmware/ to download this)

Once it restores fully at the end it will give itunes error '1015'

dont worry..

Install Libusb if you dont have it..(Click here)
after installing libusb just use this program.. ih8snow
Click on "Fix recovery mode loop"

Click on yes to "do you have libusb installed??"

Select iphone 3g from the list

your iphone will reboot..

now you can first activate it ..

then you can use safari to goto Jailbreakme.com
slide the slider at the bottom...

it will download cydia

when cydia is installed you have to add "repo666.ultrasn0w.com" as a source
Its a zero "0" in the sn0w not "o"...

Search google how to add new sources.. to cydia..

Once you are done installing the application inside the repo666.ultrasn0w.com source your phone will be finally unlocked..


Of course easier way out would be to pay someone who knows how to do this..

You need your device to be on a 3.1.2 firmware & jailbroken

You cannot unlock iPhone 3.1.3 with modem firmware 05.12.01. But you can unlock modem firmware 05.11.07 using blacksn0w.

You will need to update your navman firmware
If it is a old model gps check the navman site for compatability.

please check your iphone in settings and version and check what firmware version you have.
if you have an earlier version you can download an app from iphonedevteam.com called "yellowsnow"
the app will unlock you phone.

Jailbreaking is possible. But not software unlocking. For that you must buy something like a Turbo Sim. For jailbreaking try the program called Quickpwn

gps needs a connection to the internet to work. Iphone bluetooth is very limited.
If you are talking about gps like car gps and connecting it to the iphone through bluetooth, then you will need to update your firmware on your gps and hope that they added the iphone to that firmware. I cant see why not these days

1. open up winscp 2.delete the app 3.go to the developer site and download the newer version 4.then you are going to have to upload it back into the phone manual
