Hisense is a relatively new Chinese TV brand, and the first couple I owed all had audio problems. A sharp chirp was emitted every time a switched from an HD channel to normal resolution.

1. Try different sources to see if audio comes through on those devices. If so, it could very well be something simple like a muted device.

2. If you pipe everything through a receiver, check the volume options there first before you start throwing things out the window. If you own a small gnawing animal, check speaker cables to see if they still go places.

3. If all 3rd party device possibilities have been ruled out, open up the menu and explore the audio options for the TV itself.

4. If all else fails and you're ready to turn this thing into a pile of glass, try a factory reset. You can find this option by going to Menu > System > Factory Reset.

I have a Dynex 32" TV. I have lost the remote. I am using the controls on the TV, Menu, +-Volume, <> input and on/off. I am stuck in the menu and can't get out. Can you help me? Thanks

unplug your TV for 30 seconds and then plug it back in. Or just follow the directions on screen on how to use the volume control buttons and that should help.

Just bought E420VL 42" LCD

Go into menu, sound set-up, and switch SRS to off. It's a vizio thing they came up with to act like "Smart Sound" where commercials won't be louder. It is total BS and does not work, it makes your normal sound fluctuate. Worked on all 3 of my Vizios. Hope it helps you.
