Instructions on erecting an andre jamet 1967 super paiotte 1967 tent

Wow! That is not a new model. :-) All I can suggest is that you look for YouTube videos of setting up tents, or lay it out with a couple of friends who have a lot of experience with different tents and give it a try.

I need to buy a tent and want a basic guide to buying one so that I feel more confident about going into the camping shop. Where can I find one?

Read this article that's in the abc of hiking. It gives some really good advice about tents and what to look for. It should make you more confident about being given the sales pitch in the camping shop. http://www.abc-of-hiking.com/hiking-tents/tent-buying-guide.asp

Check out the Attwools site - they have a good selection of family tents in a range of shapes. http://www.attwoolls.co.uk/Tents-By-Type/Family-Tents or the Halfords site where they have a family tent with accessories http://www.halfords.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/product_storeId_10001_catalogId_10151_productId_786705_langId_-1_categoryId_236908

Thinking of buying this tent would you recommend it?

I used this tent quite often on my hiking trips, it's not the Rolls Royce of tents, but it's a good value for your money.

Pros -
easy to set up - 10 minutes is vry slow....
Can sleep to easly as long as they are not very tall, below 6'2".
Nice view

Cons -
lack of vestibule
lack of second door really annoying when the inner person wakes up earlier or go to sleep later...
weight, a bit heavy for long and serious hiking.
