I've just recieved this mp3 player for christmas and after putting two files on it to test worked fine. after taking those songs off and attempting to add more to it, it now only works when there are no music files on the mp3 player, as soon as i add files and start up the player it seems to start and then turns off. the battery is charged up so i know that isnt the problem, after trying to sync songs using windows media player a file named 'albums' is on the mp3 player and will not let me delete it, telling me the player is either not responding or disconnected. help would be appreciated here, major dissappointment for me.

The Walmart/Asda mp3 players in the uk have the same problem, I have the formatting software on the cdrom that came with it and it doesn't work 'Surprise'. The problem normally happens when you try to either upload mp3's more than one at a time or delete all at the same time causing a file the folder to become corrupt and stop everything. Is there possibly a factory reset menu on the player, if not you will have to search the internet for your manufacturer to see if they have an on-line formating tool.
SOURCE: Song Names show up incorrectly on ILO Mp3 player. Wrong format?
The funny~.mp3 names are usually because the title field is not filled in in the mp3 property tags, so it uses the DOS version of the filename for the title. Under windows, right click the song and select properties->summary->advanced, and make sure that the title field under "description" has what you want in it. I don't think even the makers of Ilo know how it organizes the files.

Hey there, I had the same problem just now. Go to "My Computer" and your MTP player should be right there, double click it. There should be an option that says Internal Storage. Right click that and click "Format". It will erase all the files on your MTP player, but you can reload them onto the device. Problem solved!

I'm having similar problems - the player is shown as a drive in Computer, but Windows Media Player says it is not connected. It won't let me drag and drop files, says the device is not connected
