SOURCE: my 13hp honda generator won't run.I have cleaned

You cleaned the fuel bowl? Was there any dirt, etc, in it? How does the fuel line look? How about the bottom of the fuel tank? How old is the fuel?

From your description, it 'sounds' like a fuel system problem. If it's a Honda EU3000is, it has Electronic Ignition, and electronic ignition usually just goes out all the way, not slowly.

The fuel line is small, and easily obstructed. Does fuel flow when the fuel line is removed from the carburetor? After the generator starts, runs, then dies, remove the float bowl. How much gas is present?

Observe the float. See if it's in good repair.
Check the float needle. See if the rubber (Neoprene) tip is squished, or is still in good shape.
Could be that when gas fills the float bowl, the float raises, then gets stuck in the up position, cutting off the gas flow.

SOURCE: I have an EB6500 that was sitting for a while.

Is that all you ran it was the one time? Sounds like a mouse. Or bugs got in there and built a nest, something just burning off. Get the air gun on that thing and blow it out, then try it again, hopefully it is just dust and dirt piled up in there.

SOURCE: can't start my honda eb6500 generator after being

Typically that's because the fuel evaporated and deposits have gummed up the carburetor.
You may be able to get it to run by starting it with some starting fluid, but most likely you'll need to clean out the carburetor.
It's always best to drain the fuel from a gasoline engine if it's to be stored for a long period of time. After the fuel is drained, run the engine until the carburetor and fuel line have drained.
You can also use fuel stabilizer to help prevent the problem in the future.
Even if the fuel didn't completely evaporate, stale fuel doesn't work well when starting the engine. Another reason to try starting fluid.
Good luck.

Suggest you add either Heat fuel restorer (watch the amount you add) or almost pure alcohol to the fuel to get rid of any water in your system. Make sure the fuel filter is not blocked. Then pull the spark plug and spray one 1-2 second spray of WD-40 into the spark plug hole. Turn over 1-2 times, replace the spark plug - then try to start.

This has worked on my generators for years, and hope it works for you. But take a close look at all your hoses because even a small tear will give you problems.

EM 3500 Will start, then stalls after 30 minutes, starts again and continues to staff after 5 to 10 minutes. Oil is fine.

With regrets, I do not have any personal experience with generator troubleshooting. However, I have been informed by some people that have good experience with them that a generator needs to be run for a couple of hours every month to keep the system in proper order. Should a generator sit idle for ten months, the fuel can actually "shellac" inside the carburetor and lines. This will then travel to areas that will gum up - thus the necessity to drain the tank and carburetor completely.
Here is their advice:

Your service person(s) may not be aware of the time the unit sits idle, and if they are aware - then they are not giving you straight facts (in my opinion). I would suggest contacting Honda customer service directly, and explain this situation to them - they will probably be more then happy to have a technician assist you properly. Contact the 'customer relations' number, and they will direct you from there. Here is the link:

I have a Husqvarna 48 riding gas mower. After 20-30 minutes cutting gas it will start to act like it is running out of gas and then stop. You can wait 10-15 minutes crank again and run about the same time...

Hi, when it plays up try loosening the fuel cap. It is vented and may be blocked. Also the fuel cutoff solenoid in the bottom of the carby is renouned for shutting off sporadically. You can test this theory by removing the small sealing rubber from the tip off the solenoid and replace the solenoid if it fixes the problem. Hope this helps, regards Phil.

- When was the last time this car had a tune-up? Could be as simple as that. New spark plugs/rotor/distributor cap/condenser might do the trick.

Other causes could be:
- bad fuel pump relay (definitely first on the list of things to check, and cheapest to fix)
- clogged/old fuel filter
- bad fuel pump

My honda gx160 generator keeps cutting out after 2 mins

Sounds like fuel flow is restricted.
Is the vent cap on the gas tank clear?
Pull the fuel hose off at the carb and let run into a container from the tank......is fuel flow good while filling a cup or two worth of fuel?
If not check filter at fuel switch or at hose connection at tank for restriction.
It takes about 2 minutes to use up fuel in the carb with engine running.
Sure sounds like a fuel problem.
