Noise is like a jet engine when spinning and grease marks on the floor
I wrote the comment about the jet engine noise and the F1 code on my WTW6600W Cabrio washer. Today I called Whirlpool Service at 800-253-1301 and have your model and serial numbers ready. I mentioned the F1 problem first and then explained about the noise. She did a little research and informed me that the F1 problem and the bearings problem are connected and she arranged their service people to repair both at no charge to us! It's so worth the call, we almost bought a new washer. HUGE SURPRISE!!

Hi there
Yea if the machine sounds like a train going through the middle of your house when its on spin it will most definately by your seals and bearings, an easy way to check is lean the machine back onto something and look underneath if the main seal is leaking and the bearings are run there will be rusty looking residue on the motor rotor(the round thing in the middle of the drum), seals and bearings are fairly expensive to replace About $350NZD if no shaft is needed and up to $500NZD if a replacement shaft is needed.
I hope this helps you out.

Check your belt it may be lose. A lose belt will cause a squealing noise and the machine spin slower or take time to come up to full speed
Sounds like the main center bearing is going bad that's why it is not wanting to spin on its own and is also making the loud noise when its spinning i.e. sounding like a jet engine firing up or metal grinding noise. The bearing is probably welded to the shaft now. I would not repair this very expensive cost around $300 to $600 to fix I would go buy a good quality used one or a new one sorry for the bad news but that's what it is I see 2 of these a week in my shop same problem but hope this helps.
