Sounds like a fuel problem I would look at getting a new fuel filter. You have the carb set right. That's what I have mine set at.. Good luck

SOURCE: Poulan leaf blower bv1850 Runs greate for about

Most likely low compression caused by stuck piston rings or a scored piston and cylinder. This unit was made by Poulan and they have had an epidemic of this problem. The solution is to tear the unit down and put in new piston rings. Before you install the new rings you need to get a sheet of glass and some 600 grit wet dry sand paper. Sand each ring down about .002 to .003 and reinstall. This should solve your problem as long as you have good fire and the piston and cylinder is not scored.

SOURCE: BX 90 homelite leaf blower two idle screws

The initial setting is 1 1/2 turns out. Screw them all the way in and them turn them 1 1/2 turns out. This is the starting position and should start, it may need some final adjustments to run like you need it to run.
Remember more the screw is out the more fuel it will get.
Good Day.

SOURCE: leaf blower starts and runns ok for few mins then

Target your inspection towards the 'spark arrestor screen' in the outlet of the muffler.

Overfuel or 'rich' condition
Basics to check:
1) Spark plug - brown or dark brown - OK
a) is it carbon or fuel fouled
b) is there spark

2) Muffler remove for inspection
a) exhaust screen clean or plugged
b) inspect cylinder wall/piston as the flywheel is slowly rotated
3) Check Air filter for fuel saturation
4) Allow engine to run for 5 minutes to excess fuel from muffler
5) Fuel mixture ratio: Make sure the oil mix is per your manufactures recommendations
6) If after the above the engine is still smoking and blubbering:
Adjust carb mixture screws to a 'less rich' setting
*NOTE: only move mixture screws 1/8 of a turn at a time,
and try operation before any more adjustment

SOURCE: yard broom leaf blower will not stay running I

It seems that the carb is not getting fuel. It could be a cracked fuel line. The fuel priming bulb could also be cracked/dry rotted. Possibly the fuel pump in the carb is bad. The carb is rather intricate and not something anyone without training should try to repair. The overhaul kit will cost $15 to $20. I suggest you take the blower to a repair shop.

How do I rebuild a zama carb for a rob

Zama Carbs are a little tricky. there are special tools that you need to set the diaphragm arm with and the adjustment screws have a special tool. and do not use the carb cleaner in the spray can. it dose not work for cleaning the passages inside the carb. if you have the tools I can tell you how to do it.

I tried to start my troy vac/blower and it takes for ever to start and when i used the vacuum it runs slower and finally stalls and wont start backup

Your machine probably needs: 1. the carburetor adjusted 2. The carburetor cleaned 3. A gasket and diaghram kit installed in the carb

1. To adjust: http://www.zamacarb.com/tipspage.html
2. To clean: Remove, disassemble and clean. Here are the carb parts: (Only clean the metal parts)
http://tech.flygsw.org/walbro_tuneup.htm
3. Gasket and diaghragm Kit: You will need to know the carb model (probably a Zama)
Find the model of your repair kit here: http://www.zamacarb.com/pdfs/QuickKit_CR2010.pdf
An RB kit is a complete rebuild kit (contains all the parts in the G & D kit)
A G & D kit is a gasket and diaghragm kit and will cure most of the carbs ills.
Many online vendors sell these and there are an abundance of them on Ebay.

Getting fire on the spark plug, but no start Noticed the last time it ran, that while running it started slowing down as in rpm's. Hasn't started since.

Hi and welcome to FixYa. I am Kelly. The cause for the RPM slow down in always fuel starvation.

^- Inspect the fuel feed and return lines Items 17 and 18 for any cracks, holes or loose connections.

If after inspecting or reparing the fuel lines the problem persists you will most likely need a kit to rebuild your ZAMA carb. PN# 615277

I have a Homelit leaf blower. Vintage 2003. It has run great up until today. I was running it and all of sudden it stopped. I checked gas and it had not run out. I noticed the carb was loose so I tightened...

Probably the wrong kind of popcorn....

Try putting a few drops of gas/oil mix right in the carb throat and see if it will start and get you back in business. Another thing that happens upon occasion is that the cylinder, which is held on by 2 or 4 allen headed bolts to the crankcase will come loose, thus losing your vacuum/compression. Be careful not to strip out the holes if you find this is the case. I speak from experience....

My blower wont start. untell i spray carb cleaner in it then it will run for a few seconds then die again

Need to have the carb cleaned/rebuilt. Local small engine shop can sell you the kit you need or you can dis-assemble and clean and put together. Go very slowly and make note of how all the gaskets/diaphragms come off. Should only do 1 side at a time so as to not mix up gaskets/parts.

Parts number

You need to know if it is a walbro or a zama carb. to start with.
then look closely at the carb. and find #`s
very small

walbro will be wt or wa then some #`s
zama will be c1q or c1u and some #`s on the opposite side of carb.
Walbro will be on the same side

you need to know the carb. #`s so a kit can be found for that particular carb. IE: complete kit or diaphram kit

Homelite yard blower won't start

1st how old is the gas and 2nd how long did it sit for since you last used it? If there was any old fuel left in before now (more than 14 days) than it is possible your carb needs cleaning. If it's less than 14 days then you might want to check the compression. IF you have good compression, then you might want to take it to a service center to have it diagnosed.
