I have a side by side that I puchased just about two years ago. The unit serial # is MT225306. My problem there seems to be a low voltage source to the freezer fan. I use a nife and push the fan to get it statrted when it calls for it to run and then it works Ok. If i hit the Ice cube dispensore or anthing on the door the fan quets and will osolate and then with a slight push I can get it going again. Also when the ice cube maker is on it pulsate as it seems to be kicking a relay on and off. I am a electrician of some sorts and would like some guidance. I think ther is a lnk between all these things that will only let minamal currant through. Please give me input.

What is the model number of the refrigerator the serial number is not important in this case. If your fan motors oscillating and making weird noises it could be the control board or it could be the fan motor

SOURCE: Ice maker not making ice

Chances are it will be best to replace the ice maker but give me your complete model # from the sticker inside the fridge.  Also, make sure the fill tube to the ice maker isn't frozen up.  There should be a 3 digit # in front of the 52554100.

SOURCE: My fridedaire side-by-side only gives crushed ice even when cube ice button is chosen

take the ice bucket out of the freezer
from the back of the ice bucket, there is a little metal bar that stickes out (back left bottom)
that little metal bar inserts into a hole with a spring loaded 'up/down' mechanism...this is stuck UP, and needs to be jiggled with your finger to spring down.
Once that mechanism inside the hole springs down, the ice maker will go back to producing whole ice cubes.

SOURCE: Ice Maker Issues-only crushed ice works, cubed comes out crushed

There is a solinoid in the freezer section by the motor that turns the ice auger. Test it by selecting cubes and with the ice bucket out, open the door, hold the door switch so the lights turn out and push the dispenser button. It should make a loud snap and travel upward. If not then I would say you have a bad solinoid. If it does, then I would look at the bucket. the metal rod that runs along the side of the bucket opens a flap in the bucket that is supposed to let the full cubes drop. look for anything that might cause it to be hanging up.

Voltage supply to the control unit too low (undervoltage) seems to be a common proble, but I seem to see no suggested solution

so you are not getting 24??? What control unit??? be sure you have the right transformer, also be sure you are using either the right terminals or the right wires for the primary side. also check the transformer with no wires on the secondary side, this will eliminate transformer and point you closer to solution.

We purchased a Amcor Amcoraire Mini Split Unit ? 12000BTU However the Power Transformer Input: AC115-120v 60hz Output: 10.5v 550mA isn't working as per the installer and we can't seem to find it...

Hi, this is a 1-ton cooling unit per your numbers. If they just installed it and the line side (120 volts) is good but nothing on the secondary low voltage side, they should have replaced the transformer themselves? If it is a split system, it is normally on all splits to be located in the indoor unit control section. I can't tell you exactly, but look where the 120 volts come into the indoor unit and the high voltage wiring should be connected to it then stepped down to lower voltage. It may have a fuse on the circuit board that they blew when installing it. If you are not familar with electrical, I wouldn't attempt to make these repairs. You can look for a small plug in type fuse to see if it blew, it looks like one on your automobile. I would call this installer out and its there job to do this!! These transformers look different, there not all the same, but will have a black and white wire coming in, and several colored wires coming out for low voltage. It will be in the indoor unit. Keep me posted on what you find or if you need more help. How long ago was the unit installed?

How to connect a thermostat to heat source. bought thermostat to work in a homemade incubator. i can power in unit but when i connect heat source(light bulb) it wont switch it on when temperature is below...

get yourself a RIB (relay in a box) relay that is rated at 24/120. Also purchase a 24 volt door bell transformer. Wire 2 24 volt thermostat from one side of the transformer to the low voltage side of the relay then to the 24 volt thermostat than back to the other low voltage wire of the transformer. On the high voltage side, from your light bulb cut the wire going to the center lug of the light. Run one side of the wire to one side of the high voltage side of the relay, then run a wire from the other side of the relay (again high voltage side) to the the other side of the wire you cut on the light.

I have a GE side by side refrigerator that keeps blowing the defrost heater element. MODEL # TFT22JWDA WW SERIAL # TZ264141 I bought it from a GE dealer about 5-6 years ago. It ran fine for 3 years,...

In my GE side-by-side there is a defrost temp sensor located near the top of the evaporator coil. I think the control board uses that temp sensor to know when it should be done defrosting.

On the schematic of my fridge (link below), the defrost thermistor is part number 240 in the diagram (not part number 241, which is a different temp sensor located adjacent to the one you want)

http://www.partselect.com/ModelFrames.aspx?ModelID=361233&ModelNum=GSS20IEMDWW&mfgModelNum=&ManufactureID=2&Selected=00113321i06&Position=2&mfg=GE&Type=&Mark=2

I don't know why the defrost element would fail immediately other than incorrect supply voltage or just a bad defrost element.

Denon AVR-3802 Front Display problem

This can be either the display itself or the display driver IC havng problems. Something as simple as poor solder connections may cause this as well. Without seeing hte unit, it is difficult to say what the real problem is. If you can solder, try resoldering all of the voltage regulator ICs in the unit. These look like transistors and will be marked 7805 or 7812. If the voltages drift too low because of bad connections, the ICs can get "confused" and not work properly.

Keep us posted.
