Casio Triple Sensor Pathfinder PRG60-1AV

To anyone that can help, After a year in Iraq, my casio triple sensor pathfinder watch quit working properly. None of the "outdoor" Altimeter, barometer, compass, backlight features work and the word "Recovery" keeps poping up. The time and date do still work. Thank you for your assistance.

Like anon129 I had the same problem. Those "outdoor" functions need more battery power than just telling the time and the stopwatch do. When the rechargeable lithium battery gets old and tired - which they apparently sometimes do for no very good reason - it can't provide enough power when required to, so it goes into recovery mode. It's very annoying but if your battery level indicator is already showing H the only solution is to replace the battery.
My second battery seems to be lasting better, but I'm not leaving it charging in the sun for ages this time, as I think it overheats it when the battery is full. I'm also not using the outdoor features as much, and the light hardly at all.

Try recharging the battery. Recovery usually comes up when the watch is trying to converse power. Tape it to the inside of a window for a couple of days and see if it goes to full power again. If not then you will have to send it into repairs and they will send you an estimate on what it would cost to fix it. Give them a call at 800-706-2534 option 2.

What is the battery charge indicator showing? If it shows L (Low) then that is why all the non timekeeping features have stopped working.

Try charging it in bright sunshine for several hours over two or three days and it should return to High when all those functions will work again. Check out the instructions on recharge times for a run down battery in this watch unit at http://ftp.casio.co.jp/pub/world_manual/wat/en/qw2767.pdf

Had same problem. Solution was to replace the battery. (Yes, it supposedly should never need to be replaced, however if it gets drained for too long, it can permanently be damaged).

Casio SPF 40 beeper not working after battery change

There is this little spring which fits in one of the small holes in the watch. When I tested my watch without the spring, there was no beep. With the spring in place the sound worked nice again. So (IMO) apparently the little spring is used as contact between the watch en the "speaker" placed at the back of the watch.

Pieter
