SOURCE: amp cuts off

So you have an EQ and a Pioneer amp you're trying to hook up to each other? And only some Stinger RCA cable works? And when the lightning audio RCA cable is hooked up, it doesn't turn on? The amp isn't grounding itself through the RCA cables, is it? Check your ground wire and make sure it has a clean contact that's free of rust or any paint that might be in the way. Otherwise, the RCA cables should have nothing to do with an amp turning on or not.

SOURCE: sony xplod amp(XM-1652Z ) power/protect light

if your amp is overheating your sub is needing to much power that the amp doesnt have.
if its cutting out and the red light comes on you need to check the wiring. nothing not even the tinyest speaker wires can be touching.
proper wiring would be your best bet.
but i would upgrade amps.
cheap bang isnt reliable.

The unit will need to be repaired by a technician. Most likely you have a bad transistor that is causing the protect mode to turn on. The only way to get the protect mode to turn off is to remove the bad part.

Protection Light On

Disconnect all speaker connections and rca cables. Leave power, ground and remote wires intact. Try turning on again. If you still have a protection light your amp is faulty. Hopefully you didn't fry speakers as well. Please check speakers impedance. A thumbs up would be greatly appreciated if this answer is helpful to you
