Will not restart. Ignition lite flashes

Reddy heater model# 016920475 heater fired first time after sitting for maybe a year. I cut it off after about 15 minutes. after aprox.20 minutes I tried to restart and it would not. The ignition lite blinked off and on. Following the instructions on heater it still would not restart. What can I try. Thanks for your help. E-mail add. [email protected]

Actually if there is a ignition LED then this model uses the hot surface ignitor.
The control is indicating that the HST is unplugged or broken. Check the wiring and look inside the ignition chamber for tube of white ceramic with some metal sticking out. if there are two distinct pieces of metal sticking out then the ignitor is broken. It should look like a rectangle with one end stuck into the ceramic.

What makes the heater start up then cuts off after about 5 seconds with a little of kersone running out of the front of it

This is normal. It has a time limit to fire off. The heater will cut off if it does not light. It sounds like it is never lighting up. Check your ignition source. I am not sure if you have a spark plug type or a glow bar.

30'000 btu spark style will not lite

  1. clean the fuel filter
  2. clean the nozzle
  3. set the air pump pressure.
It should fire off, unless you have developed an air leak, worn nozzle, bad fan, or a motor that is not turning rpm's.
