SOURCE: The black dial selector does

It sounds like the knob may be stripped.

What usually happens is the part of the knob that grips the shaft breaks.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

SOURCE: GE Microwave/Convection JVM 1090 oven won't reach temperature

You probably have a bad thermistor.

You can usually find helpful exploded view diagrams and order parts by entering your full model number here.

(At that site, that part is misspelled as "thermister" for your model).

There should also be a "mini-manual" hidden inside the unit behind the control panel or hidden on the left side behind the grille, which is very helpful when troubleshooting & testing.

At our Web site, we have a video available showing how to remove a typical over the range control panel assembly in under 5 minutes.

Accessing some components for testing will require you to remove the oven from the wall.

If so, the installation instructions are very handy, and it's best to have two people since the microwave can be heavy and awkward.

You can download GE owner's manuals and installation instructions here.

HOW DO I CHANGE THE CLOCK ON MY GE Profile Advantium 120

Which model do you have? One microwave in this series is the PSA9120SFSS. To set the clock, press Settings (second from the bottom on the left of the Control Panel). Turn the dial to Clock Settings. Check the LCD screen to select Set Clock. Turn the dial to set the hour, including AM or PM. Press the dial to save this. Then turn the dial to set the minutes. Press the dial to save the current time

The manual for the PSA9120SFSS is available from GE on the Product page: https://products.geappliances.com/appliance/gea-specs/PSA9120SFSS?bvstate=pg:5/ct:q . See the Service & Support tab and look in the left hand column. The current link to the manual is https://products.geappliances.com/MarketingObjectRetrieval/Dispatcher?RequestType=PDF&Name=49-40677-4.PDF . See page 26 of the manual for the information.

I hope this helps.

Ge profile microwave #PVM2070DM3BB

What worked in my case was resetting the processor. To do that, i opened the microwave's panels and disconnected all the parts that were connected. I put them all back in after a minute or so, started it back up and it worked. However, this isn't a permanent fix. The fix will work temporarily and the process will have to be repeated.

Glass Tray replacement needed

Those model numbers are not correct. That's likely why you're having trouble.

For model number JVM1790SK01, the part number is WB49X10114.

That's available here.
