BIOS passwords can be reset or removed in two ways:

1. using software 2. using hardware.

I would first try resetting or removing using software, here are two software apps to reset or retrieve BIOS passwords.

!BIOS - is a PC BIOS toolkit offering password removal/decrypt and BIOS settings modification/backup/restore.
You can download it here:
http://www.syschat.com/download120.html&act=down

CmosPwd - Cmos password recovery tools
http://majorgeeks.com/CmosPwd_d239.html

You will need to create a bootable Dos, or Linux or NT cd in order to run them.

Good Luck!

SOURCE: My laptop won't start up and i can't use the recovery media to sort it out.

its sounds either your windows has been currepted or you have some missing driver/software wich cause re-start.

  • Try to boot in safe mode.
  • Start pressing F8 after making on your lap til the boot option menu appears.
  • Select Safe Mode and press enter.
  • If your lap boots well then, goto Start -> Run and type msconfig in the commad box and press enter key.
  • In System Configuration Utility click on Services tab and click Hide All Microsoft Services after that click on disable all. Then press Ok and reboot your lap normally. After do same as above and enable one by one service to get which cause problem.

If it even does not boot in safe mode, then i think you should re-install windows.

Thanks & good luck
Iqbal

I can no longer access my bios through the supervisor password, therefore I can no longer activate boot priority. I need to repair a windows 10 continuous loop that resulted from an update gone wrong!

I am not a Windows 10 user. I usually access the BIOS before the computer boots by pressing the DEL key seconds after switching on.

I am not an expert in such things but removing the bios battery will reset many bios systems though some motherboards require jumper connections to be made. The motherboard manual for your motherboard should give details.

With a fingerprint required no software fix will work - you must reset the password directly to the BIOS chip. For your safety (you can easily damage the laptop if you open it without perfectly knowing what you're doing) take the laptop to the service center.

HAVEA TOSHIBA LAPTOP WITH A FINGERPRINT IDENTIFIER TO OPEN WINDOWS, WANT TO CHANGE THE FINGERPRINT TO MY DAUGHTERS. HOW DO WE ACCESS THIS?

dentifying the fingerprint readerA fingerprint reader provides extra security for the PC. The VeriSoft Access Manager by Bioscrypt uses the fingerprint reader to identify the user, and controls access to Windows or other secure systems. Instead of typing a User ID and password, you can move your finger across a sensor to logon or start commonly used applications. Verisoft Access Manager can manage all of your different secure accounts and the required user names and passwords by recognizing your fingerprint. On HP notebook PCs, the fingerprint reader is a small metallic sensor located near the keyboard or display. By swiping your finger perpendicular to the metallic sensor you can logon to the PC, a network, or open a program. c00897920.gifBefore you can use the fingerprint reader, you must set up the fingerprint reader by registering your fingerprint with the Access Manager. Set up the fingerprint reader To set up the fingerprint reader to recognize a user, the user must have a logon account on the PC and the account must have a password. Multiple users can be registered for the fingerprint reader if each has their own user account.
  1. In Windows, double-click the VeriSoft Access Manager icon c00897921.gif in the notification area of the taskbar to open the My Identity window. Alternately, click Start > All programs > Verisoft > My Identity .
  2. Click Log On to open the VeriSoft Logon Wizard. Click Next to begin.
  3. Enter the User's Windows password in the Password field on the Introduce Yourself page, and click Next . If you have successfully logged on to Windows, click Finish to close the wizard.
  4. Click Register Fingerprints on the My Identity window, to open the VeriSoft Logon Wizard. Click Next to begin. c00897922.gif
  5. Select a finger shown on the hand graphic, and then slowly swipe your finger across the sensor. One of the squares below the hand graphic will change color when the scan is accepted. A message displays if the scan is not accepted.
  6. Swipe the same finger across the sensor again until all four squares change color, then clickNext to register the finger print. If you need to start over during the fingerprint registration process, right-click the highlighted finger on the screen and then click Start Over .
  7. If prompted to register a second fingerprint, click a different finger on the hand graphic, and then repeat steps 5 and 6.
  8. After using the Registration Wizard to registered at least 2 fingers, click Finish .
  9. To set up the fingerprint reader for a different Windows user, log on to Windows as that user and then repeat steps 1 through 8.
After registering your fingerprint you can log off and then use your registered fingers to log on to Windows. I cannot access my laptop because i forgot my laptop which i don;t even remember entering,,i cannot even access it on safe mode

If this is an admin password problem you can use the locksmith facility on ERD Commander this will allow you to reset the admin password for your laptop this should help you get back into the operation system.

Get the software HERE is it zipped you will need to unzip it and the use either Nero ROM or Imageburn to create a boot CD.

Then you must go into your BIOS and make sure that the CD or DVD drive is set to boot first, this is normally one of the function keys or ESC depending upon the BIOS chip you have to enter press F10 to save and exit.

Hope this helps.

Don't have authorized finger swipe or password.

Hi ginamarieanc,

There is always a password associated with the "finger swipe"
If he somehow managed to setup without a password you would be able to hit the enter key with the password bar blank and get in.

If you get an incorrect password error that means there is a password.

If you could get him to let you in once you could change the password. The only other way is to remove the cmos battery and reset the bios, you would need to disassemble the laptop to do that.

If I was a CSI I would be able to tell you how to lift his print off of a glass of water and make a mold of it(just kidding, I don't think that works)

Sorry I couldn't be of more help but let me know if I can help with removal of the cmos battery.

Please rate this solution.

I have dv9000 notebook computer. how to config there finger print password

1. In Windows, double-click the VeriSoft Access Manager icon in the notification area of the taskbar.
2. On the “My Identity” page, click Log On, located in the upper-left corner of the page.
The VeriSoft Access Manager Logon Wizard opens.
3. On the “Introduce Yourself” page, enter the user's Windows password, if one has been established,
and then click Next.
4. On the “Services and Applications” page, click I want to, and then click Register Fingerprints.
NOTE: By default, VeriSoft Access Manager requires registration of at least 2 different
fingers.
5. When the VeriSoft Access Manager Registration Wizard opens, click Next, and then slowly swipe
your finger across the sensor.
NOTE: The right index finger is the default finger for enrolling the first fingerprint. You can
change the default by clicking the finger you want to register first, on either the left hand or
the right hand. When you click a finger, it will be outlined to show it has been selected.
6. Continue swiping the same finger over the fingerprint sensor until the finger on the screen turns
green.
NOTE: The progress indicator advances after each finger swipe. Multiple swipes are
necessary to register a fingerprint.
NOTE: If you need to start over during the fingerprint registration process, right-click the
highlighted finger on the screen and then click Start Over.
7. Click a different finger on the screen to register, and then repeat steps 5 and 6.
NOTE: If you click Finish before registering at least 2 fingers, an error message is
displayed. Click OK to continue.
8. After you have registered at least 2 fingers, click Finish.
9. To set up the fingerprint reader for a different Windows user, log on to Windows as that user and
then repeat steps 1 through 8.
