D70 will not power up. I had the charger tested and was told that it was fried. I charged the batteries and there is still no power. Is the next step to replace the batteries?

I purchased it from someone who had not used it for several months.

It doesn't even power up. There is not error message--no lights come on.

Forget the charger
get a charged battery and test your camera if that works
then you can pick up a charger at best buy real cheap.

SOURCE: Have Nikon F3. Did

well first off pheonix, is the motordrive still working, hopefully it is. if so then the only concern you may be encountering right now are the contacts for your Varta V76PX / 357's. few months of no operation may give enough moisture inside the camera and rust will start to form, it may not be visible on the outside of the battery contact but it could be inside. battery contact repair/replacement may not cause too much, so thats a good side.

if this is the problem (my boss had an D50 and stroed it without silica gel), the next time you store it, use a silica gel, or put one in the box/bag where it will be intalled. just a personal thought

good luck

SOURCE: its only 1 month that

Hi,the battery may have a dead one.,since you have a valid warranty pls ask for a replacement..
It is normal for the batteries since they have been fully tested under load..
sometimes it happens even with a famous camera maker as NIKON but remember batteries manufactured by another source, they just put a brand name whoever asks.
Hope this helps! Take care and please Remember to rate/vote and give me

Charger light comes on but laptop won't start or charge even with new battery it was working till i did a calibrate the battery

IF you are not using a Dell charger that is the first thing to try. They are proprietary and wont run the laptop in some cases involving the battery. There could also be an issue with the MOSFET power transistors that may have happened at the same time. This is not easy to check or repair.

I have a hp g60, i have a really weird issue. Some times my laptop stops charging suddenly and the small led next to my charging input slot does not show any light. I checked my charger its showing...

Kind of vague. It could be the port on your laptop where the charger plugs into. It could be bad, or could have a bad connection to the motherboard due to use or manufacturing defect. When the charger stops charging then it has to use the battery power. This morning the battery may have had a low charge causing the laptop to shut down. Did you notice the battery's power level before it shut down? If you are wiggling the end of the charger that is plugged into your laptop to get it to start charging again, then that is most likely your problem. Do not wiggle it , for it could fry your motherboard. If that is the case then that port needs to be re-soldered.

My tomtom will not come on what is the problem

Then it means power is not reaching the unit. The power is mainly obtained from the battery, and if the battery is not charged, then it will not come on. Try to charge the gps device for about 2 hours then try to turn it on. If it does not come on, then it means the battery did not get charged. That can be a problem from either the battery or the charger or the charging port.

First test the battery by fixing it in another gps and charging it for about 2 hours then turn it on. If it powers on the gps, then it means the battery is okay, but if it does not turn it on, then it means the battery is weak and cannot hold a charge and the solution is for you to replace the battery.

Next you test the charger by trying it out on another gps device, if it turns it on, then it means the charger is intact but if it does not turn it on, then the fault is from the charger.

Finally, test the gps itself by trying to charge in by connecting it to the computer using the USB cable, then you turn it on, if it does not come on, then it means there is a problem with the connection port or there is an internal problem or something with the unit.

Hope this information helped.

Jump started it backwards no power no where now !

Thanks for the clarification. It appears that you've done one of at least two things: 1. Either blown the main fuse; 2. Blown the battery (possibly). If the fuse only is blown, you'll need to isolate and replace it. If you actually fried an electronic or electric ignition component you'll need to determine if their circuits are still either functioning or dead. Secondly, if the battery is fried (more likely since you say no spark nor lights) you need to test it. Remove the positive and negative cables that attach to the battery and test it for voltage output. If you have an internal short or disconnect you'll get low readings. You want at least 12.8, preferably 13.2 volts. If you're marginal, hook up a trickle charger and charge it until it's up to capacity. You can, carefully though, read the individual cells with a decent hydrometer to determine if one or more is dead. If even one is dead and the others are good the battery is useless, and you'll need a new one. If thay all test good, but low, go ahead with the charge sequence. When finished re-attach everything and start it . Do not use a car charger unless it has a 1.0 or 1.2 amp trickle charge feature and you must use this. To reiterate, first check and test the battery, charge if needed, check the fuse/electrics.
