I have just received a USB2.0 to Fast Ethernet Adapter Model No: KY-LAN772BL cable. The driver CD that came with it has a number of files on it. I do not know which file to use to install the driver onto my MAC AIR laptop. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

Juda2008, please tell me how this came about? Where you installing windows? (Fresh install)? Did the NVIDIA LAN driver function before? Or did you just loose the ability to connect to the internet one day & tried to re-install the driver. Than windows reported there is no hardware for this controller? If this is the case, double check in you're bios, page 32. Make sure you're onboard LAN is set to, Enabled. If it is set to Enabled & you are unable to install the correct driver software for the LAN controller, than the onboard controller may be defective. If this board is still under warranty through PC Chips, suggest you call tech support for an RMA. If you're board is not longer under warranty than buy a PCI LAN network 10/100 card. http://www.tigerdirect.com/applications/searchtools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=402915&Sku=N100-1420%20P&SRCCODE=CNETFEED&CMP=OTC-CNETFEED
There is one other way to try to install the controller for you're board. Go to PC Chips web site & download the NIC driver software. Create a folder on you're desktop & name it. Click on this link, download the NVIDIA Ethernet Driver into you're folder. http://www.pcchips.com.tw/PCCWebSite/Products/ProductsDetail.aspx?detailid=392&DetailName=Driver&MenuID=7&LanID=2
The driver file name, Nividia_33nm.zip must be uncompressed. Do this within the folder on you're desktop. Now open device manager. Find the yellow ! point for the missing driver. Right click once on the ! point & slide up to & left click update driver. Windows hardware wizard will open. Click No, not at this time & than click the next button. In the next window, click Install from a list or specific location (Advanced), than click the next button.
In the next window, click on the green check mark next to; Search removable media (floppy, CD-ROM...).
This will remove the green check mark. Than click the Browse button. Go to you're desktop & open the folder you created.
Click on the folder NVIDIA so it is highlighted, than click OK.
Windows should install the NVIDIA Ethernet Driver software.
If you receive the same error message from windows than you're NIC controller is defective.

If you have a wireless router then the ethernet cable will go between the modem and the router. Then you need a wireless LAN card to connect the PC to the router
What model router and modem do you have?
PC wireless card
