Vista Ultimate -Microphone on Cyber Acoustics Headset not working

I am running Windows Vista Ultimate on a Dell Inspiron 1720. The microphone portion of the Cyber Acoustics Headset I have used previously with Windows XP is not working with new Vista Laptop. The ear pieces on the Headset are working fine with the Vista environment. I have tried going through the setup procedures in Vista for sound / microphones with no success.

do you still have that installation of windows xp? if so, copy the driverstore folder from the my computer/C: Local Disk/windows/system 32 folder to your vista computer, then go into device manager (search for it in the search bar) and click on sound video and game controllers. then go right click on the first one click update driver software, select manually, and select wherever you put the driverstore folder

take a 1.5 volt batery cell... attach one side of cell it to the end of headphone pin... attach other end of cell with a wire and tap that wire on the headphone pin ...u shud get a clicking sound in ur headphones.... this is to check if ur headphones work...

if they work... apply a drop of mobile oil on the headphone pin and insert it in the jack and spin it so the oil reaches the inside of jack then let it dry for a while....

attach the headphone to jack again and play the audio ...if this doesnt give u any output.... check ur sound driver software

Headset works, microphone does not.

Try to look for the microphone volume in your control panel. Maybe it is just on mute.

My brand new Cyber Acoustics HS-600 headset microphone won't work with AIM

Hi Bob,
The first thing to check is that nothing is muted/turned down low in the Volume Control/Mixer. Then you need to go into the audio settings in AIM and select a different Microphone from the list. The one set to default is not the one you need. You'll either have a USB input/output for the headset or 2 jack plugs for input and output. These use different drivers on the computer. So just try using the different drivers from the list, one call at a time, remember to reboot AIM as you try each different one, and that the microphone volume settings are turned up in the AIM programs as well as you Volume Control/Mixer.

Hope this helps you progress

Dell Inspirion 1521 Laptop Microphone Wont Work

checklist:
1. sound driver 2. microphone settings in volume control applet 3. tap test (tap the area around the microphone and see if eg Sound Recorder picks it up) 4. external microphone
If you get to step 4 before you get anything then your problem is one of missing or damaged microphone.

Cyber Acoustics AC-840 USB Headset

heyo...for you online meetings...I am assuming you are using Skype. Check the volume settings in the TOOLS and OPTIONS, audio settings, audio in&out, using the drop down menu for microphone and speakers. Save.

If that isn't a problem, it could be a setting in Windows (also assuming you are using XP). Go into your Control Panel, SOUNDS&AUDIO, Audio tab, check your volume there.

Good luck!

Cyber Acoustics PC Microphone Not Working Anymore

Well to find out if your computer even recognizes it, you need to right click the white speaker on the bottom right of your computer. Select audio devices. More than likely it will tell you it isn't connected.
I uninstalled the sound completely from my computer. Then i restarted the computer. This will reinstall the drivers for your sound and the one you need for your mic. I have vista but this should still work for XP.

-right click on computer (should be on ur desktop or under start menu)
-select manage
-device manager
-click on the plus next to sound, video and game controllers
-right click on the audio (high definition audio device)
-select uninstall
- restart your computer.

This will do the trick.
your computer should recognize the mic.
