How can I clean the black cooktop grids?

I have tried to clean them with soap and water, using a plastic scrubbie, but I still have the sticky grease and ugly stuck-on cooking stuff. Can I put it in my dishwasher or clean it in my oven?

Put in kitchen sink with hot hot water over night, with dish washing liquid. preferbly when kitchen is not being used. (After dinner time) drain then spray with mr muscle oven cleaner give it about an hour, then scrub the **** out of them with a stainless steel goldilocks. Rinse then soak in hot water again for 20 minutes then drip dry. After use when cooking always clean any mess left behind. Wipe down so it is easier for you to wash when needed.

New smeg gas stove top and one of the cooktops does not click or ignite. How can I fix it?

Take the burner off and boil it in a pan of boiling water and soap. Leave to cool, rinse and dry. That should fix it. grease is insulating the grounding for the spark. I have come across it many times.

Having said that, how new? Still under warranty? Call them out!

Igniters on my Bosch gas cooktop not working. I guess it needs cleaning. How do I do it?

You can try to clean the two pins with degreaser and then soap and water using a skrubby sponge for delicate surfaces However, my Bosch cooktop has had problems with the igniters (particularly on two burners) which required the replacement of the control unit. This requires opening the unit completely and replacing the white plastic box and connections to each burner. It is easy enough to do, but it is a bit scary to lift off the glass as there is probably an adhesive which one has to lift the top off of. Another thing you can try is to adjust the two screws that are uderneath the removable cover of the burner. Sometimes just tightening or loosening them a bit can solve the problem

How do you clean the trough in the middle?

Hello- You can put the filter in the dishwasher. The trough can be difficult to clean, I would use something that's not too sudsy, like Citra Solv or any degreaser. Just use a sponge or rag. If there is a lot of build-up you can scrape-up the grease with a plastic putty knife. Once it is clean just turn the vent on to dry it so any water left over will not cause the pan to rust. Hope this helps, best regards.

Grease-encrusted cast iron trivets

Try soaking in hot soapy water that you've dropped several denture cleaning tablets in. That's helped me get some tough stuff off, or at least loosened up enough that some elbow grease and a scrubbie can finish off the job.

Put them in the oven and run the self clean cycle

Oven cleaner. That stuff is second only to industrial grade hydrogen peroxide

Batender's Friend. That stuff is amazing!

Good Luck

Burnt on stains on the inside glass door of my kitchenaid oven

DeBruce Polish should remove those types of problems and also render the surface more "Cleanable". This stuff really works on glass anomalies.

How to remove burnt grease, fix lightly scratched black stovetop?

Hi, I assume we are talking about a flat glass top. First the bad news. using any abrasives will permanently scratch the glass hence the dull spot. You can however make it look a little better. Grease spots and the like can be removed with a flat razor blade scraper which needs to be held flat to avoid the corners making scratches. Use any good glass/ceramic cooktop cleaner ( which is the ONLY cleaner you should ever use ) (available in your local grocery diy store and some hardware stores). The cleaner is a thick liquid, put about a dime size drop on each burner area and use a paper towel to buff out the finish like waxing a car. Once it looks clean flip your paper towel over and shine the top to like new. Good Luck!

Cleaning glass cooktop surface

I used Mr. Clean multi-surface and the green, back side of the sponge. Turned on a light to show visible stains better, and scrubbed away. It didn't scratch the glass and got it out quick. Hope this helps.
