I bought a UK KEF KIT 100 at end of 2004; I used the system for a year, then put it in to storage (I moved house); I've only recently re-connected the system and have some questions:
1) I can't get any DVDs (or CDs) to play; I put a DVD in, and press play but LOAD is displayed forever and the DVD never starts; I put in an audio CD and one track did start playing then stopped; the system was in a loft space which might have been dusty and I'm wondering if the player simply needs to be cleaned?
2) Is it possible to get FIRMWARE upgrades for the KIT 100? can they be downloaded or do they need to be ordered from KEF on a CD?
3) While using the analog input with stereo jacks from a mac laptop there is sometimes a buzzing sound. I have a projector and wanted to use the analog RCA (or digital) jacks on the back of the KEF to play sound from the MACs DVD player; I could use a TOS or COAX digital cable instead of the analog RCA jacks. Does anybody have experience of piping laptop audio in to the KEF? The KEF is treating the audio as Pro Logic II but I'm guessing a digital cable from PC input would be treated as Dolby Digital?
Many thanks.

First clean the laser head with a Qtip and alcohol. It gotta be perfectly clean, so wipe with fresh brand name qtip and make sure there is not a single dust particle on it. You gotta remove the cabinet with star screwdriver. Your beam might be tired. First try with the clean up!
