My mv303 karaoke machine words from the song on screen seem to go double image miss letters in the words while reading and singing the song. Is it the cdg itself that is worn out or what is it?

My dell latitude D820 lap top just stopped decodeing dvds

To change the Region code on your DVD player, open Control Panel - System - Hardware - Device manager, and click on DVD/CD ROM drives, then right click on the DVD drive and click Properties then click on DVD Region.
You can enter a new region and it also shows you how many changes have been made.
NOTE you can make only 4 changes and the player will lock permanently on the 4th change.
If you want to play DVDs from any region you maybe able to upgrade the firmware to make it region free BUT if you make a mistake or installed the wrong firmware the player will be a piece of junk.
The best solution to make the player region free is to install a piece of software (Passkey for DVD) that allows you to play DVDs from any region and Passkey for Blu-ray that allows you to play Blu-rays from any region. There are several available on the Internet but my favourite is DVD-Region Free From: -

Hi, I have a samsung dvd/vcr combo player model number v6800 which I hacked to be region free. It now plays dvds with region codes regardless from where they originate (ie; 1 or 4), however, some of my...

If the dvds which are "all regions" are recorded from a computer, your dvd player may not play them. I assume the dvds which have a region code have been professionally prepared. Sometimes, the cheap dvd players will play anything while the more sophisticated ones will give you trouble unless everything is just perfect.

Playing DVDs

NoThese days most of the companies are producing Region 0/ALL DVDs If you can get them OR buy a dual region DVD i.e. Region 2/4 which can play on both the regions. Most of the DVDs produced in India are multiregions. Choice is yours now

I have a 8 mm camera connected to the front inputs I have the Insignia plugged in and av2 mode i have a dvdr in the machine I simply hit the record button and nothing happens? I just want to plug my camera...

can't do it that way. you'll need to plug it in to the tv, play it on the tv, and the video output from the tv to the dvd player. make sure you have the correct format of the dvds for that player. some formats of dvds does not work for certain dvd recorders.

let me know what other issues you have

Trying to play dvd but says wrong region soneynhv-dx350ab?

Hi, if its saying wrong region. then either your player or disk is incompatable. region 1 ntsc ( USA ) Region 2 ( UK ) et,c. check your players region coding is compatable for your country, and that you are also playing a dvd with the same region coding as the player. alternatively is to try and find a region free or multi-region solution. Region code 4 on Samsung DVD-VR355 player/recorder

I live in Australia and have two Samsung DVD/VCR player recorders, DVD-VR375 and DVD-VR355. I could only play Region 4 DVDs until I pressed DVD, with no DVD in the units, pressed Menu then 76884, then 9, inserted a Region 1 DVd and it played in both units.

Whats region 1 dvd?

dvds are coded differently depending on which region of the world they are intended for. there are eight regions - check this link for more info; http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=502554 this was a pointless idea that was supposed to limit video piracy, but only actually causes problems and increased production costs The US is in region 1, so the problem is the settings on your dvd/vcr as to what region it is coding the discs as. You may be able to change this in one of the menus, but it may be designed for only one region code output. Check the manual - if you need a manual or have trouble then please post the make and model of your dvd vcr recorder and we can try to help Hope this helps you :)
