Whirlpool 20RB D4 Fridge Freezer clicking

I have a Whirlpool 20RB D4 american fridge freezer and it clicks loudly for about for about a minute every so often. Usually but not always after one of the doors has been opened. The clicking stops if the door is opened again and starts again when it shuts.

The fault lay with the Control circuit board in the bottom rear of the fridge freezer. I obtained one from Whirlpool spares for £90. It is simple to change just power off the fridge freezer and remove the control board in its plastic housing found at the RHS rear bottom. Remove the cover surrounding the circuit board and unplug all cables which can only plug into their respective sockets so you can't get it wrong on reassembly.

Replace with new circuit board which comes in its own plastic cover and re assemble in reverse then power back on. Job done.

Hi the reason for your noise coming from the fridge freezer is the plastic that is used in the design of your product is of a low quailty which reacts to the temp change and then as they get cold again they start to crack inside the frigde! Nothing to worrry about........
Hope this helps.....

We have a Bosh KIM29473GB for some time water has been collecting in the bottom tray of the fridge and only takes a few days to fill up, this weekend the freezer stopped working and now nothing works.

If you hear a click every few minutes and a buzz / click then nothing, it would sound as if your compressor is gone, the water problem is the defrost drain pipe is blocked

Whirlpool fridge freezer

Totally a normal action.. When the compressor switches off once the temperature is reached, or possibly after a defrost cycle, if the gas hasn't quite equalised, it will click once or twice then start up.If the compressor has a starting capacitor and it does the clicking, then one needs to check the capacitor.

Whirlpool american fridge freezer

Hi, this problem IS caused by components that have failed in the rear module! Fact!
There are a few people that sell the kits to repair them on a big auction site.

Whirlpool FRS Side by Side Fridge Freezer

Hi Simon I saw that problem because you have a hole in the bottom of the freezer connecting directly on the wall of the fridge you need to block it ... because the air flow directly from the freezer 2 the fridge . Hope it was helpful.
