Sony Dream Machine FMAM radio with iPodiPhone dock (ICFCL75iP) Clock Radio Logo
Anonymous Posted on Sep 05, 2012

I have a Sony Dream Machine ICF-CS15iP Personal Docking Station. It won't play the iPod music through the speakers of the docking station.

I tried customer support chat and tried turning both units off and on again, nothing is working. I get the message on my iPod "This accessory is not supported by iPod Touch". I have a 4th Gen iPod touch, which is supposed to be compatible with this unit.

Did you ever get an answer or find out how to solve the problem? We are getting the same error message on iPods that we recently updated.

SOURCE: i have the ICF-CS10iP dream

Please check the iPod connector on the Sony. If you can wiggle it, it is probably a bad connection. These models Sony radios have the connector directly soldered on a PCB and it tends to get loose after a while due to connecting/disconnecting the iPod. If it is loose, the connector needs to be resoldered back into place.

I have had the following circumstances when there was a bad connection:
- iPod will not be charged
- iPod can not play music through the Sony
- iPod will play music through the Sony, but an iPhone won't

How do I get music on my docking station through my iphone?

I would check to make sure you don't have a cable or headphones plugged into the Audio In jack. If not then I would suspect that you have a newer Ipod touch or classic that is not supported by this dock. Something changed a couple of models ago with ipods and the last two generations haven't been compatible on older devices meant to play through the dock connector. I have the same problem with an older Sony car stereo.
If you do have a newer Ipod then you can either get the patch cable to go from your headphone jack to the Audio in jack on the dock or you will need to get a newer dock.

I have an lg home cinema and docking station GT462DZ . Sometimes, when i try to dock my ipod touch in it , it says 'check ipod' and it won't play music . It won't work. I always restart my...

It could be that some dust or something has got inside the dock and giving a bad connection. Check both devices for damage to the dock connections.

Is Bose docking staions have any adapter to generic mp3 players??

im sure it would also have a audio jack apart from the docking station through which you can connect any input device to the station.....they would then work as normal speakers....but not a 'dock' where you can park your mp3 player

Bose docking statoin

They both use the same speakers, my personal opinion deems they are both the same. However the second SoundDock charges via USB pin, so it is future proof for future iPods.
