I tried customer support chat and tried turning both units off and on again, nothing is working. I get the message on my iPod "This accessory is not supported by iPod Touch". I have a 4th Gen iPod touch, which is supposed to be compatible with this unit.

Please check the iPod connector on the Sony. If you can wiggle it, it is
probably a bad connection. These models Sony radios have the connector
directly soldered on a PCB and it tends to get loose after a while due
to connecting/disconnecting the iPod. If it is loose, the connector
needs to be resoldered back into place.
I have had the following circumstances when there was a bad connection:
- iPod will not be charged
- iPod can not play music through the Sony
- iPod will play music through the Sony, but an iPhone won't
