I have a SONY/WEGA/KDF-E5010, after the tv has been on for 5 mins or so it shuts itself down and the comes back on. The power light on fornt blinks as it warm up. I have cleaned the lamp area.

The green screen suggests a problem or bad Optical engine. Most Sony sets have a self check for error codes---set off: with remote: Display, 5, vol down, power(hit the power button)
This kind of problem occurs when lamp becomes weak that means near to end of working life hours but still not dead nor broken. Replacement of lamp in tv will solve your problem, lamp replacement procedure is easy and would be written in user manual. Thanks.
need to know how many time the red light is blinking there should be a pause. 4 blinks is a fan, 3 blinks is the lamp door is not closed 6 blinks is thermal sensor.
5 times Red LED blinks means Lamp Driver Error. (KDF-55WF655) 2 possible reasons, either Lamp is gone or Ballast Supply got bad. Replace lamp first, in most cases it solved the problem. How old is this TV and did you replaced lamp recently? Thanks.

We put the lamp back in, the tv comes on but after 1 minute is shuts back off. The red light on the tv flashes 3 times after it shuts off.
