When watching a Blue- Ray and sometimes when watching cable the receiver will change modes automatically, with no buttons on the remotes being pressed. It will switch from Aux to I-pod or a different input. We have experimented with the HDMI cables and the audio cables with no change. Any thoughts?

SOURCE: Hi there, I bought this
I think you would have to use the tv remote control to change the input signal from the dvd receiver to the digital tv receiver. If that doesn't change anything, see if there is a setting for external speakers when not using the dvd receiver.

What you have to do is select the proper item on the receiver since that is what you have the dvd player connected to. Pressing bd/dvd on the receiver is not necessarily the right thing to do. All receivers have an input or source or function button that will enable you to choose the correct area where your device is connected. The way you have this hooked up may not be right but first things first. You will need to have a movie playing in the DVD player so that you see the numbers advancing. Go to each input/source/function on the receiver until you hear the DVD. Ok great! Now getting the picture is a little more tricky so please follow along carefully.
The cables going from the DVD player to the receiver: The cables should be connected to where it says OUT on the DVD player or hdmi out from the DVD player to one of the receivers INputs. Once that proper connection has been confirmed make sure the receiver is connected to the television for both video and audio. You must have a video cable as well as audio cables between the television and the receiver or an hdmi cable. If it is not connected to the television in this way that is the problem right there. In fact you probably have a cable going from the television's audio OUT going INto the receiver. In order to see your DVD player you will also need to connect the receiver's video OUT to the television's video IN.
You will need the television's remote to be able to change the source/input/video/aux on the television. You might be able to change it with the cable box remote by pressing tv and then input/source/video.
ALTERNATELY: You can connect the DVD player's Video OUT directly into the television's INput. The DVD player's Audio OUT cables would be connected directly to the receiver's IN.
Either way you will have to choose the correct input on the receiver as well as on the television itself.
Good luck!

I'm having the same problem. Samsung is making me pay over $50 to mail it to them... Not worth it.
We are having the same issue for the past few weeks. The system worked fine for a few months before hand. Were you able to get it resolved?
I am having this problem also. When watching a Samsung Smart HDTV and trying to use the Sound System the Blue Ray Player mysteriously changes Input Source to DVD Mode and the tray opens. It's very annoying because it interrupts any show I am watching. Tried swapping out the HDMI Cable but that did not fix the issue. Samsung gave me a list of things to try that are ridiculous and overly time consuming. The unit is in a cabinent and not easy to just disconnect and try on other TV's and setup multiple experiments. Seems like a software or controller glitch to me but Samsung has no clue.
I have the same thing going on with my Samsung Blu-ray currently, but I have had the unit for over my year warranty and I agree, I will not be sending it to Samsung for $50. My problem is now to find a replacement that has the same features and can also be plugged into the surround sound the blu-ray came with. UGH!
