Need to activate Music on hold mode

I have 5 phones - RCA 4-line Intercom Speakerphone Model 25423/24

I am trying to activate the Music on hold mode

As I understand there are three modes
1. Tone
2. Mute
3. Music on hold

According to Melodyline their device is installed correctly but they told me that there were these three modes and that the phone is currently on the Tone mode. I reviewed the user manual and can't find the method to switch the mode. Help???

Thanks
Mike Van Atta

The newer model RCA phone will do music on hold. There is a jack on the back of each phone, you plug a cd player or MOH device into it and it will play on ALL of the phones(not just that one).

Mike I just sped around the net and there was nothing stating that these phones offer "music on hold" . I install 4 line phones for customers and I have not run across any that did music on hold(there is always a first time). I would hold your vendors feet to the fire till he can get HIS music to work on you system!!!!!. If he had information telling him that your phones were compatiable have him forward the info to you. He had something that told him yopu had three modes. Hopefully his info was not PFA ( plucked from air)

Line 1 disconnects people on hold

Try these first and let me know
Intercom does not function correctly
• Make sure line 1 is connected properly and common to all phones on the system.
• Make sure all phone ID’s (station numbers) involved have been assigned.
Transfer does not function correctly
• Make sure receiver phones (stations) have same line connected.
Intercom indicator turns red and green alternately
• The station address needs to be re-assigned due to a duplicate station address in the system. See “Changing the Phone ID (Station Address)”.
Good luck,

How do I check L1 message waiting

I had the same issue on my RCA 25255re2 and worked with customer service at RCA. They had me hold down the delete button for 5 seconds, release the delete button, then press delete one more time. That cleared the phantom L1 message waiting issue we were having at my office

Does this phone have music on hold capability

I don't think so. There are extra hardware pieces that you could purchase that would plug into one of the jacks, but since you have a two line phone, it would pretty much defeat the purpose.

Good Morning! I work for a small business that has 5 of the GE 2-9451 4 line phones with intercom. We were actually running two businesses out of the same office originally. Line 1 would ring in to...

Hi,

Since you said line 3 was working for #2 company, i will suggest you put the line 3 back from where you removed it from. From the look of things the line might be the only line connected to be functioning. When ever you want to switch line since it is with intercom you will need to switch both side from where it is connected to where it is connected to, so that network connection can be achieved.

And on the other hand, the other line might not be working properly, that is why it was not connected or used.

Take care.

Speaker phone problem

It is possible. I have ATT 945(?) 4 line phones that communicate via a DSL-like signal between units to do special things like intercom, etc.

What I have in my setup is that I have a seperate line from the point of entry of my phone line to my DSL modem.

I then have TWO stacked DSL filters PER LINE that feed the main phone line running to all the phones.

Be AWARE that when using the speaker phone there is a modulation of the gains both directions. When you talk OR have a noisy background noise, the gain of the speaker is cut down to prevent feedback. And when you go silent, the speaker gain is increased for you to hear the other side of the call. Essentially it takes as much discipline as the old two-way radios... one talker at a time with these speaker phones AND very little background noise.
