Unplug the unit, then manually depress and hold the light switch on the frame of the unit while plugging it back in. The lock should go back into the proper position.

Hi .The oven door will not unlock until it cools down despite the cycle being finished. If it has not opened in a maximum of 1 or 2 hrs then oven sensor failed during self clean cycle and will have to be replaced.Try restarting self clean to unlock door .If not you will have to do the old coat hanger trick or manually move the lock mech. from rear, sensor cost $30-40.Hop this helps .Please rate my response :)

SOURCE: Frigidaire---oven door locks.

On my Frigidaire electric range with flat screen front controls, when the "Clean" control was accidentally pushed and the door locked, I could not unlock the door by cutting power, by running the clean mode for 30 seconds then pushing "Clear", or by hitting any button. What opened the door was holding down the "Clear" button for 30 seconds until the range started beeping and code "F11" read on the led. This worked. Good luck with yours.

SOURCE: how do I unlock the

Hello there:
This is a fairly common issue with ovens like these
You will need to unplug the oven from the wall or if it is hard wired find the breaker that feeds it and trip it now you will have to wait for 1 hour to allow the ovens internal reset feature to reset the oven controle panel now after is up AND NOT BEFORE plug in the oven AND YOU MAY HEAR A AUDIABLE BUZZ OR CLICK WITH IN ABOUT 5 MIN if so simply press the cancel button or if you have a reset button on it press it and now you will be able to resume what you were doing ok>
Hope this is very helpful for you
Best regards MIchael

Oven door is locked out - Sears no help

      1. Step 1 Read the display on the electronic oven controls, where the clock and timer normally appear. If the display reads "CLN" while the "Door Locked" light is on, the Kenmore range is in self-clean mode. When the Kenmore range is in self-clean mode, you must stop the cleaning process before the door will unlock.
      2. Step 2 Stop the self-cleaning process by pressing and holding the "Stop/Clear" button for three seconds. The oven lock should disengage after three seconds. In some cases, a malfunction between the control panel and the locking mechanism prevents the door from unlocking.
      3. Step 3 Hold the light switch for several seconds if the "Stop/Clear" button fails to unlock the range door. Engaging the light switch for several seconds resets the entire locking mechanism and overrides the "Stop/Clear" button.

Aeg b5741-14 oven has code f5 -what does this mean?

Here is a list of oven error codes for your model Kenmore oven.
  1. F0 indicates a Stuck key pad.
  2. F1 and F7 may mean relay is turned on.
  3. F2 indicates that the oven is over temperature in one of the following modes within either cooking or cleaning mode of operation. The control is sensing over 615 degrees with the door lock circuit in the unlock mode. Control senses oven temperature above 915 degrees with the door in the locked mode.
  4. F3 and F4 indicates an open or shorted oven sensor or sensor circuit.
  5. F5 indicates a loss of relay drive circuit.
  6. FF indicates a loss of door motor safety switch.
  7. FC indicates a door lock circuit problem.
If the display of your control is flashing "F" followed by a number or letter its a range malfunction. Press the clear/off pad. Let the range cool for 1 hour and place the range back into operation.
If the problem repeats, call for service.

Oven will not come on to cook, it will come on in cleaning mode

I've seen this problem on my own oven. If yours, like mine, has a door that has a locking mechanism, the catch is most likely stuck in the locked position. The door still closes and the lever still moves (though it may be very stiff).
Take off the screws around the locking plate, manually push the catch to the open position, spray the catch VERY, VERY lightly with WD-40 and dry it thoroughly. Close the oven door and try the lever again.
At this point, it should move freely and your oven should be able to switch between LOCKED/Self-Clean Mode and UNLOCKED/Cook Mode. If it does still get stuck, you'll just has to a) try lubricating the catch a bit more or b) keep a screwdriver handy! ;)

I accidently put the lock on my oven. Now the lock will not come off. Please help

Hi

The oven door and controls can be locked to avoid unintended use of the oven. The oven doors and controls cannot be locked if the oven is in use, or the oven temperature is 400°F (205°C) or above.

To lock the control panel and both oven doors:

  1. Press and release Cancel.
  2. Press and hold upper oven Cancel and Cook & Hold for 3 seconds. “Off” appears in the display and “Lock” flashes while the controls and oven doors lock. Both oven doors lock. “Lock” remains lit in the display.
To unlock the control panel and both oven doors:

Press and hold upper oven Cancel and Cook & Hold for 3 seconds. “Off” disappears from the display and “Lock” flashes while the controls and oven doors unlock.

Please see this link for more information as how to disengage the lock on your Jenn Air Oven---

Whirlpool oven

When I had a similar problem, the door wouldn't unlock even after unplugging, waiting 30 minutes, and plugging the oven back in. I finally had to manually unlock the oven by turning the lock latch motor myself.

Here's a good page that describes what the lock latch motor looks like and where it's located. Of course, there is 220V current running around inside there, so please unplug before removing the back access cover and put it back on before plugging the oven back in.

My symptoms:
  • Oven failed to complete auto-clean cycle.
  • Oven started beeping; control panel showed FSE 1
  • About a minute after plugging in, oven started beeping and displaying FSE 1 again
Once I unlocked the door manually and plugged back in, the oven started behaving normally.
