One cd player wont read

Take a can of compressed air and blow into the player all around and try it. The heads get dirty over time and stop reading. Clean the dust off the laser head and they usually start working again.

My does my cdj keep skipping on track 1 and 2

Try a head cleaner first and if that doesnt work then look around for a new cd player or use the computer as if its what i think it is then its not reading correctly and it not really repairable ,Well financialy viable as i think the memory reading of the circuitry is questionable.

I'm trying to burn a song to a CD-R using a Boss BR 1180 but every time it completes, there's no song on the CD. I record, bounce, record on 9/10, then try to write to CD and it never works.

"it never works"... this is NOT enough information for us. You are not telling us how the CD is tested. If you are testing it in a boombox type player, that is not a test. First thing is to look at the bottom of the CD to see if you can detect written tracks... with right lighting you can tell if it has been burned. REMEMBER that CD's, unlike phonograph records, are written from the middle outward. Many consumer players have trouble playing CD's that are written but not "finalized". If you CAN see written area (compare to unburned CD) then likely the burning is taking place, and the problem is the format is either not complete or incompatible with your player. Try reading the disk in your computer. Also you might want to visit the forums for the Boss/Roland workstations at VSPLANET.com.

Does nat read disk

typically with these if you get a no read disk on disks you have once before known to work in the unit then you probolly need a new drive. You may try to use different types of cd's ( expecially if burnt ) owners manual might have a preferred brand in it.

Can a dvd player be installed in the mpc 4000

The unit is designed for a CD unit. While a DVD player MIGHT work as a CD read and burner, it would not likely burn DVD's or read them.

My cd player frequently ails to read the cd and recently the audio goes in and out.Its a Fleco.

Try CAREFULLY cleaning the CD reading lens with a Q Tip moistend with 91% isoprophyl alcohol... DO NOT use rubbing alcohol.
Check if your CD's have fingerprints or other contamination. Clean those with windex and a soft cloth rubbing ONLY outward from the center, NOT circular.

Keeps switching off and showing tocread on display

That probably means it can't read the "Table Of Contents" which is essentially the directory of the disc.

MAKE SURE any disc you try to read has been "finalized".

Any disc that you have burned that can have stuff added is NOT finalized and may not work in certain CD players.

Not reading cds

There may be dust inside the unit on the laser. Try shoting some compressed air in the CD drive area to clean out. Also, ensure that the CD surface is clean, and try a different factory made audio CD. Sometimes CD players have problems reading "burned" CD's.

My staton cd play reads no disk

try using a cleaning disk, but ive found that those dont work that well, find the laser lens "near the motor that spins the cd" and use a micro fiber cloth, or eyeglasses cleaning cloth and gently wipe the lens in one direction, you can use rubbing alcohol on the cloth if you like, just blow on the lens to make sure its complely dry. if that does not work, then the laser may be burnt out.

My denon UCD250 cd player does not work and comes up no disc each time, have tryed cleaning CD,I think the disc is not turning. thanks John

Hello,

the problem is from the lens (laser).

The lens is very weak such that it cannot read disc.

You need to clean the lens with a cleaner and if it does not work, then it means you have to change the lens completely.

Take care.
