After power outage, TV screen is blank

Following a power outage, the TV screen on our JVC flatscreen is blank - the menu screen keeps defaulting to the DEMO page, but no demo will run! When we change the channel on the cable box, the station ID and the program title appear at the bottom of the TV screen, but only for a few minutes and then it goes blank again. HELP

this problem started a few months ago. i would unplug the tv, and that would solve the problem, but it doesn't fix it anymore. i called jvc and the hard reboot (unplug and hold power button for 30 seconds) didn't work. i'm not sure if it's a problem with the tv or with comcast cable box, but i had no problems like this when i was with att uverse.

It sounds funny but, unplug the set for 30 seconds to allow the TV to reset then see if the problem still is there.

How do I rest my Jvc LT-55N776 without a remote

You can still reset your TV using alternative methods. Let's explore a few options:

Soft Reset:
A soft reset won't erase your TV's applications or settings. It's a simple way to restore the TV to its default state.
Here's how to perform a soft reset:
Unplug your JVC TV from the power source.
Leave it unplugged for 30 seconds.
Re-insert the TV's power cord into the power outlet.
Turn on your TV and check if it's functioning normally.

Hard Reset:
If the soft reset doesn't solve the issue, a hard reset might be necessary. Keep in mind that this will erase your TV's previous applications and settings.
Follow these steps for a hard reset:
Unplug your JVC TV's power cord from the electrical outlet.
Wait for 60 seconds.
Plug the cord back into the power source and re-plug your TV.
Locate the control panel on your JVC TV (usually on the side or back).
Press and hold the Volume Down and Menu buttons on the control panel for 10 seconds.
While still holding those buttons, press the TV's power button and continue holding it.
Release all buttons.
Turn on your TV and check if the issue persists.

Mobile App Reset:
Download the Google TV app on your Android or iOS device.
Use the app to reset your JVC TV to factory defaults.
Wireless Keyboard Reset:
Connect a wireless keyboard to your JVC TV.
Use the keyboard's touchpad control to navigate and perform a reset.

Contact Customer Care:
Reach out to JVC Customer Care and follow their instructions for resetting the TV.
Remember, these methods should help you get your TV back to its default settings even without a remote. If all else fails, consider getting a new remote control to make future adjustments easier.

My toshiba flatscreen says retail unlock on it an it wont do nothyn.. how i fix it without original remote

You can reset and eliminate the lock on some televisions without the remote.. Hold the power button for five seconds. The television will automatically restart. If the lock is still on, unplug the television and remove the battery from the back panel of the television. Wait several hours before reconnecting the plug and reattaching the battery.

You say you have a Universal remote. If you have not done so yet use the procedures that came with your remote to install it on your Toshiba. After using the install procedures you should at least be able to power on and off the TV.

power the TV on and then do the following:

TOSHIBA specific advertisements or "Retail Lock" at anytime when operating, perform the following procedure:
  1. Using the remote control, press 1, 2, 3, 4 in this order. This will release the "Retail Lock" mode.
  2. Perform a factory reset of the TV
  3. Resetting Factory Defaults:
To reset all settings and channels to their factory default values:
1 Press the MENU button and open the Installation menu.
2 Highlight Reset TV, and then press the ENTER button.
3 Enter your PIN code (If a PIN code has been set).
4 A con?rmation screen appears. Select Yes, and press the ENTER button. The TV will turn off automatically.
Then do the following:
  1. Power on the TV. You will be prompted to perform the first time setup.
  2. Be sure to set the Location option to Home.
  3. Continue with the first time setup.
The "Retail Lock" should be disabled and you can now use all the functions of the TV.

hope that helps

I get flashing green on my screen when the hdmi cable is hooked up. This only happens after a power outage. How do I reset it?

usually you need to plug the HDMI connection back in, and power everything up. Then using the menu, set the HDMI connection, back, to whatever you wish, often it is efficacious, to have the alternate unit already plugged into the set. It may also pay to reset your TV set, back to defaults.
