According to page 24 of the manual here http://support.casio.com/pdf/008/ap_45_e.pdf
It says
Demo tunes
While holding down the MUSIC LIBRARY button,
press the PLAY/STOP button
.....and try to play a specific demo tune ........
After playback starts, press the tone button that
corresponds to the tune you want to play.from the list.

ALSO in the Troubleshooting section page 35 For DEMO tunes UNPLUG HEADPHONES

If it doesn't work, then you need to get a Technician to look at it.

In the forums tab, scroll down to the BR8 forums. There is software to convert the BR files to PC readable. You can find discussion there of where and what to get.

Best to use the line out jacks. The phone jack is stereo and you would have to use a wye cable for that.

There are conversion programs. There is a forum for the recorders on VSPlanet.com . Go to the Forums at the site and search BR.

It sounds like you have not loaded the driver for the device into your computer. While USB will automatically connect to many devices that are common like printers and mice, these special music devices require support software in the computer.

It’s necessary to bounce all of your tracks to a stereo pair of tracks before you can export your song to a computer as a WAV or MP3 file for burning onto a CD.
1. In normal mode, push EXIT and UTILITY until you see BOUNCE on the display.
Note: The upper right corner of the display shows the track you’re bouncing to. By default, “12V2”—Tracks 1 and 2, Virtual Track 2—is selected.
2. Press STOP and REWIND together to go back to the beginning of the song.
3. Press RECORD, and then press PLAY.
4.When the song’s finished playing, press STOP.
i read some stuff online and this should help.

I get an unformatted come on the screen on my Boss BR 532 when I swith on, and also when pressing record, although I can get drum machine to work and guitar go through it ok but no recording Hmmmm Erggg

think i had same problem; i deleted the annoying demo song ! try it and see.

Im Guessing Your Trying To Burn It Off Before Mastering It Which Means All The Tracks Between 1 And 10. First You Click Audio Cd Write/Play Then Select Disc At Once And Then It Should Guide You From There. I Hope This Helps
